I hadn't planned on watching the entirety of this in one sitting, but an unexpected day off coupled with the quality of this fanedit led to a full day well spent rediscovering what I once liked about GAME OF THRONES.

Tyrion's intelligence.
Dany's sanity.
Sersei's agency.
Jaime's character arc.
Littlefinger's cleverness.
Westeros' size.
The Night King's threat.

All this (and more) have been restored in this reconstructed finale. I can only imagine how much of an undertaking this was, but the work is much appreciated.

If I were to offer any suggestions/constructive criticism, it would be:

-Pump up the volume of Bran's new lines (though admitted my hearing is getting worse with age, so this might not be as problematic for others as it was for me). I had particular difficulty parsing his "I've led you into a trap" lines to Jon beyond the Wall.

-If it exists, and it doesn't slow down the pace of the final episodes too much, add or restore some small bit of Jon + the Dragon between him petting the dragon at DragonStone to becoming a full-on dragon rider in the final battle to bridge this hug transition. Maybe even a line repurposed from elsewhere to acknowledge it? Admittedly, this may be impossible with the materials onhand, but it was one of the few times I felt there was something missing.

-Add an establishing shot of King's Landing or some buffer footage of some sort before Jon comes to melt the Iron Throne. The jump from Winterfell to King's Landing felt a little too abrupt.

And lastly, and this is more "wouldn't it be cool, but holy crap it would probably take forever" suggestion

-Adjust the opening credits of each episode to reflect the characters and locales featured in your new arrangement.

Thanks so much for sharing your work and effort with the community; marvelous job!

I really enjoyed watching this. My feelings very much echo those of user revstevens and their review. This is pretty much the best we could ask for given what is available to work with. Frankly the new VOs by Bran sounded so much like Bran that it was hard to believe it wasn't the actor himself doing those VOs. My nitpicks: In the final episode I would have chosen to flip the final King's Landing scene to a later position in the edit, mainly because it just wasn't clear how they got there and why they were then back in the north so quickly. I also am not completely clear on the relationship/history that Bran and the Night King have according to this edit with the new effects and VO. I was able to infer a great deal and come up with my own understanding, but it isn't completely clear (to me) that my inferred understanding was what the editor intended, even after I rewatched the scene several times and was sure I understood all the words in the VO (I could not get the subtitles to work, I'm sure that was user error). Other than that, I feel the logic was so superior in this edit compared to the original. This was much better storytelling, with a coherent narrative that, overall, made sense. Thank you almightycutie, for giving us a version that can be enjoyed.

This was an extremely enjoyable edit and definitely a great way to rewatch the series. Personally, I didn't hate the way Daenarys turned evil in the original series, but the decision to remove that storyline does really work well. Flipping the timeline between the large battles and placing the battle against the Night King and White Walkers at the end of the series was definitely the right decision and just works much better than the show. Less Euron, fewer Tyrion jokes and removing the Bran as king ending are all just excellent edits.

I don't have many negative things to say about the edit, only a couple minor things but they don't bog down the final product. Episode 3 ends with Jon and Daenarys outside of Dragonstone during the day, then we cut to Bran's vision and Jon wakes up in a cold sweat at the end of the night. It was a bit disorienting to have that quick jump and the vision might have fit better to start episode 4, but just my personal opinion. Fast-travel was mostly fixed but not 100%. This isn't the editor's fault, you're bound by the source material. The trip North of the wall was a bit fast but the most jarring sequence was the final episode where Jon and Daenarys are in King's Landing, burning the throne, then it jumps back to Winterfell and they're travelling north of the wall. Felt a little bit disjointed but it's still a very satisfying ending.

All in all, great decision making went into this edit and it really made the final two seasons more enjoyable. It's a must watch and a job well done.

OUTSTANDING!

I could leave it at that, but I won't.

A Reminder.

Do you recall when you used to watch GOT, that expectation and tension of not knowing what was coming next, revelling in the dialogue and intrigue? Do you recall as the final seasons progressed how tha mood and ambience gradually fell away as characters unravelled, plot lines went askew and modern idiom seem to excessively creep in?

Well, THIS is the final season of GOT we all deserved (with a few personal caveats at the end).

Almightycutie not only achieves his stated objectives, IMO he surpasses them...considerably.

I watched the first few epsisodes with the hangover of dissapointment from their original airings and frankly had low expectations. "As long as it's not shit, I'll be happy". As things progressed though I had that old GOT Viewer vibe back...and I was not dissapointed. I was entralled ALL THE WAY.

The biggest improvements for me were the elimination of "fast travel", removal of modern idiom and the the revised character arcs and fates. I literally can't fault this albeit I did notice some mid scene costume changes a couple of times (but I edit as well so I'm primed for that)...but on both occasions it was only coz I recal the scenes being different and when I rewound to see the scene again THEN I noticed....masterfully executed.

The technical standard here is superlative and with circa 10 hours of material, the one or two audio segues which might be smoother are frankly so minor, no points dedcuted on the 3 technical categories.

Enjoyment: I score a 9 here, reluctantly and that is mainly due how this winds up...There is nothing wrong with the ending per-se, but the choices here did remind me a tad of what the original problems were. Let me be clear though, it is a far more satisfying conclusion and frankly had it been the one that aired, we all would have been ok with it...

Narrative: Again, this is outstanding and I completely agree and understand the choices made to accomplish this outstanding edit. I do however believe that with a little more work, one or two of the "intrigue" plot lines could have been retained/modified/ incorporated in order to keep the threat of the unexpected in regards to character threads, alive. The streamlining of this is a tad too much for my taste, and though it was necessary in order to deliver new outcomes and fates overall, It would be nice if a V2 were to drop back in 10-20 mins overall of a few of those destabilising interactions (even if they do not pay off and the new outcomes are retained). I also fully expected the titles to roll after "the melting" (avoiding spoliers), and the sequence of scenes which followed gave me a Return of the King vibe, with one or two too many scenes. Nothing wrong, just a personal choice. In fact, I think just a reordering of the last 10 minutes might benefit this outstanding edit (with some excision of Jon's reaction shots while on the dragons; he's expert now).

Again, let me be clear, this is outstanding, and is my go to version and anyone who would like to have a satiusfying journey on GOT should absolutely watch this, burn to disc, and slip into your box sets!

REMARKABLE!

This is my first viewing of a fan edit and I enjoyed every bit of it.

The original last season felt like a total mess in closing loose ends, but this edit manages to maintain the integrity with that of the beloved previous seasons. This edit ensures that the story doesn't feel rushed. Every decision made in this edit makes more sense than the original. There is no rush to close out anything, and the pacing feels much more drawn out especially during the battle of the White Walkers. I remembered how underwhelming the outcome of the battle with the White Walkers was for me, and also thinking how upsetting it was that it was considered less valuable than the battle at Kingslanding. This edit does not disappoint in fulfilling the expectation that I initially had before seeing the original.

I had little expectations of this, yet was blown away by how satisfying the ending was. The last two episodes was such a treat, and although it was probably the most sequentially edited piece out of all the episodes, it was such a marvel to watch.

My GOT journey feels more complete with this edit. Congratulations to almightycutie for such a phenomenal edit. I recommend any GOT fans to check this out, especially for those who fell out of love due to the last seasons.
