Game of Thrones: Redeemed

The level of work that went into this must have been enormous. There were graphical edits that were really professionally done, and the reworking of the story from front to back (literally reversing the order of events) was so genius. It felt like that's the way the story should have been. I have my small nitpicks, but they are extremely small.

Loved:
* Jamie, Brienne, and Cersei's new endings
* Dany's vision at the Throne. Genius!
* Aiming the raiding party at the Night King
* Justice for Missandei and Greyworm!

Liked:
* Arya's surprising new ending!
* Sansa's ending,
* Bran warging into different people throughout.

Wished it was different:
* The Winterfell battle is still too dark.
* Confusing events at Dragonstone in Ep3
* The Tarley execution
* Jon's ending was too confusing.
* One small plothole at Ep9/37:35, Greyworm references Danaerys taking the throne in the future, but it's already happened.

To stitch together a scene using footage taken from various episodes and, aside from obvious errors an editor can't fix, making it look like it was always that one scene - is an impressive feat.

I was lucky enough to stumble on the thread for this edit in the forum when it was just submitted. Reading through I liked the narrative idea the editor presented, so I decided to check it out even in that unapproved stage. And I was quite impressed. almightycutie managed to turn the story around, forcing it to serve his predefined vision using clever editing techniques and visual effects.

Now that I watched the released version, I was happy to see that some of my suggestions came through here. And other changes that improve upon that initial version I saw. And it works! The edit works! Yes, there are goofs and plot holes and a few places where character motivations become questionable. However, none of it kept me from enjoying the presentation. Especially since it was leagues better than what we got in the original show.

The quality of the edit is absolutely stunning for a fanedit (10/10)

The one thing I don't agree with from a narrative perspective is Jon and Dany staying lovers: I don't think they should remain lovers in the end. It just doesn't suit their characters, being in the position they are in. I would have enjoyed more to see them flying the dragons together, accepting each other as members of the Targaryen family, but not going back to being involved romantically. Maybe a plan for v2 ;)

What a creative edit! Enough has been said about the disappointment in how GoT concluded, but this represents a very bold approach at making something much more fulfilling out of it. I thought the restructuring of events worked extremely well and made much more sense than what the show gave us. I thought the creative use of Bran to improve the 'Beyond the Wall' storyline worked well, though less so the final scene with the Night King- the element with Arya worked, but I found the flashback part somewhat confusing. The series now ends on a more positive note so the viewer doesn't come away from watching feeling quite as flat as I did watched the finale at the. Overall, plaudits to the editor for the quality of their work and their creativity in coming up with solutions to the shows self enforced problems- it's a great example of what fan editing is all about!

There were some limitations due to the source material available (particularly in the last episode), but the author did a terrific job given what they had available to them. Well done!

This was an extremely enjoyable edit and definitely a great way to rewatch the series.
