Prequel edits are strange... they always draw me back, make me wish for a better execution... and then I am usually disappointed.
A part of the reason why i don't enjoy most edits is the fact that they seem to rush through the prequels in a sort of necessary evil-way. I tend to not enjoy prequel edits because they feel less like movie and more like bullet points that the edit goes through as fast as possible.

Fall of the Jedi II is one of the few episode II fanedits i managed to finish.

The opening had me a bit on edge because the sudden explosion was a bit too abrupt but afterwards everything worked out very well. Mostly because Q2 is not simply removing stuff but replacing and rearranging.

I never had a problem with the mystery aspect of the clone troopers although i understand the criticism of the yoda and the younglings and the dexter scene. In this version the work obi wan does is in the background and whenever we meet him we are catching up with him. this makes his investigation much more interesting than going from a to b with the audience exactly knowing what he will do next.
because we don't see most of the research obi wan at least comes across as smarter than in the original. replacing the queen of naboo with the family meeting is also much better and adds more emotion to the story - or add leasts gives the illusion of emotion.

The way Amidala and Anakin get arrested is also much much better and in a way a stroke of genius to underline the threat of this separatist movement. it gives character to padme the idealist.

C3PO and artoo are well removed from the battle and yoda isn't missed. The cut to the senate is a bit abrupt but it was a decision by Q2 to not show sidious so there isn't really much that can happen between those scenes.

Overall i really enjoyed this edit. It is a much improved version that despite running only 90 minutes doesn't feel rushed like many other edits

(A caveat before I begin: I hate the source material for this edit, so I did not take into account my bias when giving a score for enjoyment.)

This is a huge improvement over the theatrical cut! All of the trilogy-spanning edit decisions made in Q2's Phantom Menace cut carry over here, so that means no R2D2 or C3PO, no knowledge of the Sith puppetmaster's identity (other than a slight mistrust), and very little Jar-Jar. In addition, he's somehow managed to make the romance between Padme and Anakin feel authentic and organic, as opposed to unbelievable and forced, and he's taken out that ridiculous fight between Yoda and Dooku. The pacing is also greatly improved, the story feels more focused, and the trade-outs between theatrical material and deleted scenes worked beautifully. I still don't consider this a very good movie, but at least now it's somewhat exciting and feels more like Star Wars. The best thing I can say to make my point is that, when it ended, I couldn't wait to watch the third one. I've never liked any of these prequels, so for me to feel that way is completely unexpected. Kudos. If you want to watch the prequels again, watch Q2's versions.

The only change I don't agree with is removing "I have a bad feeling about this." Ultimately, it doesn't make much of a difference, but, c'mon, it's Star Wars.

This is the first Episode II fanedit I’ve seen, and the first time I’ve seen the movie at all in several years.

My impression before viewing was that I hated this movie, I literally had to convince my self to sit and watch it. I recall it being very slow, and ultimately very pointless. Very little was gained from this movie that couldn’t have been surmised by simply watching the first half of Episode III.

But that was before Q2’s edit. I can honestly say I now prefer Episode II over Episode I. Q2’s cut at least. He’s taken a very flawed movie and distilled it to a much finer flim. As well as tightening up the plot, Q2 has also adjusted the tone to be more adult. That being said, I think kids can still enjoy this movie. Sure the most pointless and over the top battle scenes have been trimmed, but there’s a surprising amount of good in this movie once the cheesy/cliche parts are taken out of the way.

As usual Q2’s edit is technically flawless. Id say it’s even better then FOTJ Episode I. The pacing feels totally right, and there was never a time where you could tell something was cut. A great example is how he removed the droid factory scene. And although R2 and C2PO make brief cameo’s, they’re never on scene for more then 5 seconds at a time. Also, Anakin and Padme’s love finally made sense. When they kiss for the first time, it doesn’t feel forced or rushed. They feel like two kids in a desperate situation, finally giving in.

As I haven’t seen the original in some years, I can’t recall many other specific cuts. I do remember there being a fair amount of cheesy dialog that I didn’t see this go around.

I feel like this review is a little scattered, so I’ll sum it all up here. This edit is a major improvement over what was originally an awful, awful movie. Q2 trims the fat, and once he does it becomes clear the story told here is actually sort of interesting. I can’t compare it to other edits but I can say this is damn well worth your time. I’d watch this again before ever watching Episode I again (that movie is beyond saving).

I’d give George’s original film a 5/10.
I’d give Q2’s version a 7.5/10 (to say nothing of his technical ability, which is always 10/10).

First of all, I’d like to say that I completely adored your menace edit. I loved what you did with the pacing as well as the R2/3po problem and was hugely surprised to see the subtle ways you improved the characters. But I’ll elaborate on that in a review on the other picture, for now we’re talking clones.

You did your best with this one man, you really did. Yet again a few neat edits here and there have massively improved the pacing of the film, you cut all the shitty contrived dialogue(Accept of course for “as you can see my Jedi powers are far greater than yours so…back down). But in all honesty this film is beyond saving. That creepy/vommity look of early digital cinema is never going to leave this film. The lack of any real locations still makes the film feel claustrophobic and unreal. All criticisms of course directed at George, not you.

A few things I would say to you is that there must have been a way around the whole Jango thing, I can’t think how but there must be a way to change the dialogue so he just IS Boba Fett. Because…well…a plot where all the storm troopers turn out to be clones of Boba Fett’s dad is way too fan fiction. Even if someone was to view these films in order from phantom to jedi, they would be way confused as to why Boba wasn’t more uncomfortable around all the storm troopers in empire.

Also, you gave up on the cutting 3po and r2 thing I guess, because at one point they have a scene together where they talk to Annikan and stuff and it’s real dumb.

The ending of this film is non-salvageable. I never realised it would be this way but in cutting the yoda scene (which obviously had to go) the film has no climax, Dooku just maims our two main characters and leaves. For this to work the atmosphere surrounding this scene would need to be far darker. Or something…I dunno..as it stands this ending is way to abrupt. Also, Mace Windu is the stupidest fucking character ever. And that’s never gunna change.

Ps loved the way you got rid of all those goofy BSG style zooms in the battle scene.

Easily my least favourite Star Wars flick and now I find it watchable. Q2 has done an excellent job here, the only issues I had with it were the story from the source material and there's only so much that could be changed! Still, If I can get through a sitting of AOTC then we've all achieved something!
