The original amazing spider-man was a polarizing experience for me because while it wasn't a bad movie but it was too similar to sam raimi's spider-man with a lot of plot holes and sequel-baiting but this fan edit made it feel like not just a complete and whole movie to the point that it felt like a standalone movie but also one of my favorite spider-man movies so I was very satisfied with this movie. The minor complaint is that you could obviously tell which scenes were deleted scenes and which were from the sequel with peter parker's hairstyle and room changes to be specific but the movie is so engaging that I honestly didn't really care about it.

I was not a fan of Mark Webbs TASM movies. They felt over bloated or were missing scenes that would explain the "untold story" that he was trying to tell. This cut near perfectly brings that "untold story" aspect back in by brining those scenes from TASM 2 and putting them into TASM 1. Sure it makes it almost 3 hours but Peter's father plot line is concluded and for the most part is built up much better than being put into the sequel to poorly wrap it up. Not to mention the added deleted scenes really help fix a few continuity errors not to mention flesh out Dr. Connors so much better to be more sympathetically than just him losing his arm. Only subtitle issue I have is I feel some of the TASM2 scenes where Peter is in his room setting up the diagram to find the truth should be maybe put after we see all of Peters room from the first film. That way his room does not feel like its jumping from style. Unless this is a separate room he is doing this all in like a guest room. Otherwise, everything was cut perfectly and well done.

If you do want a great sequel to this, look up TASM2 Spark of Life fanedit by Bobson Dugnutt.

As someone who wasn’t a fan of the reboot, I must say that this version gave me a newfound appreciation for it and I’d now say it’s my third favourite behind the first two Raimi films.
I wasn’t able to tell what deleted scenes were added so I’d say that’s a win and that this edit is a definite recommend for any Spider-Man fan.

This is a movie I already enjoyed very much with the theatrical cut. IMO this is still to this day my favorite Spider-man movie out of all the existing ones. The fan edit, I enjoyed it just as much as the theatrical cut. All the deleted scenes were added in seamlessly. So if anyone already enjoys this movie but want more (extended), then I would definitely recommend checking this out.

The reason why I only gave 9 out of 10 for narrative is because one small criticism I have is that the intro scene was a bit too long. If I didn't already love this movie and know what is to come later, if this was my first time watching this movie, I would probably be wondering if this is a Spider-man movie or what? So for a fan who simply wants more, the long intro is fine. But if someone isn't a fan watches this for the first time, I imagine they might get bored with the intro scene. So if this was to be released at a theater, I would suggest trimming the intro scenes shorter so it's easier to digest.

Overall, this is a great edit for a fan to experience the story again with all the additional contents added in seamlessly.

What worked - Deleted scenes inserted masterfully, notably the switch between the POV scene from the teaser and the first reveal of the suit. It's amazing how well the Roosevelt storyline can be integrated with the first film. The new song added to the wall of craziness scene shows how legitimate this edit is.

What didn't work - A couple rescores I wasn't too fond of (Elfman and Zimmer) but it's nothing recognizable or out of pocket that would take you out of the movie.

Closing Statement - IMO this is the best way to watch TASM. I wouldn't even call it an "extended edition" as all the additions make the film feel complete.
