It's remarkable that ArtisDead was able to cut 2/3 out of this movie yet it still feel like a complete narrative, with all the style and feel of the original. At no point did I find myself missing the original or bemoaning missing scenes (and I love the original), he manages to keep all of the essence of the move while removing any fluff. One or two scenes/dialogue felt a bit rushed but honestly thats better than I would expected given the amount cut. The only scene that felt a bit jarring was the Chris Waltz flashback, but I don’t think it could have been handled in any other way. My only real issue was the Bowie soundtrack, I love Bowie, I love this movie, but somehow I don't think they mesh so well, and playing the songs over some of the dialogue I felt ditracted from certain scenes, but honestly thats a pretty small nitpick considering. Overall this quite the feat, and an enjoyable take on a great movie.

I really like most of Tarantino's films, but I have my favorites. Inglorious Basterds isn't one of them. Maybe, it's the subject matter or the fact that it's a gory war movie with comedic overtones. Several genres that don't seem to belong together somehow find cohesion in this movie.
It is a very long movie to cut down to an hour. I was definitely curious as to how Art pulled that off. I read the description of the edit and some of these reviews. I am aware that a lot has been cut and a lot of David Bowie has been added. Since Bowie was famous after the events were to have taken place, that seemed like an odd choice. The dedication to Bowie was very nice.
The entire opening of Colonel Landa murdering Shoshanna's family was cut, the edit opening on Hitler ranting and raving.
The first song, which was featured during the recruitment of the Basterds, Heroes, was my least favorite song placement. It seemed to conflict with Leuitenant Raines speech and didn't sound great muffled.
The next song placement completely redeemed any reservations that I had about the first. The choice to place Psycho Killer (not by Bowie) as the introduction to the "Bear Jew" was excellent. It was the perfect song for that iconic moment.
Suffragette city was also placed in the perfect spot. I loved the "crash" on Churchill but felt the song overpowered some of the dialogue at times.
Other songs that stood out and worked well were Fame (the intro playing as Major Hellstrom brought Shoshanna to meet Goebbels was an excellent choice and perfectly lands on Landa's introduction. It also amplifies the evil of the too brief, but well executed, b&w flashback of the opening murder scene). It was obvious that much was cut out of these scenes if you were familiar with the movie, especially the entire romantic obsession that Zoller had fir Shoshanna.
Rebel Rebel presented perfect tone for the tavern scene and the needle lift was an awesome small touch! Much of the movie was cut here on micro cuts with expert precision!
Cat People (one of the better song placements that was in the original movie) perfectly sets up the theatre destruction and massacre of the Nazis.
Man Who Sold The World, Golden Years, Moonage Daydream and Changes all work well. For some reason, Art chose to muffle part of Golden Years right before Landa murders Hammersmark. That wasn't the best decision even though it escalates as he is struggling to kill her. Changes was almost hilarious at the end.
The very best song placement, as others have mentioned, was using the Pink Floyd song, Pigs as the theme for the slaughter of the Nazis. This was just over two minutes of Cinematic perfection that even Tarantino wouldn't have considered. I'm not a huge fan of the Floyd but even I can appreciate that level of perfection.
This was a very impressive edit as a whole. There is so much going on in just over an hour. It's amazing that it works so well. The editing, both visual and audio, is flawless.
Excellent work, ArtisDead! I highly recommend this edit and look forward to seeing more from you!

Editing this episode was always going to be a tough job but ArtIsDead has done a fantastic job of keeping the main narrative and streamlining down the story into an excellent 1 hour episode.
If I had any criticisms it would be that a few of the new song choices and placements didn't quite work for me. One or two were a little 'on-the-nose' for my taste and I thought the volume level of the songs was a little too loud during a couple dialog scenes.
Outside of that I would say congratulations on a fantastic edit!

I loved it, Every minute was engaging and edited very well. The music choices and editing was perfect. The Psycho Killer scene was really good, it fit the character and moment perfect.
That scene in particular was my favorite part. I loved it all so much though my second favorite episode so far.
If you liked the original film then you'll love this edit. I don't know how else to explain it.
It was all done very, very well, I don't expect any less from ArtIsDead and the Red Apple Crew.
Well done Art! Cheers!

This edit was really cool. It feels like the Basterds have a bigger share of the cake in terms of on-screen time and that’s what I really hope when watching an edit based on a movie called Inglorious Basterds. I am not familiar with ArtisDead’s body of work, but I must say he delivered on this one.
Of course the technical aspects were on par with what we expect from a fanedit. On the narrative side I was afraid at first, that the character of Christoph Waltz would be too much lessened. His performance is iconic in my opinion and I could watch the movie just for his acting. Even though I found myself missing him from time to time, this edit has him doing what he does. But it may have made him feel a little bit less intimidating. From what I can tell though, it changes nothing to the narrative in the end.
I’m not as big a fan of the music choices made here but I think the editor already knows that he and I have different views on that! Although I would not have modernized the soundtrack, the chosen songs were well suited for the themes and emotions throughout. I’m not sure about some editing choices though. For example, the first song, Heroes, drops down weirdly during the opening credits scene. And the song during the German actress interrogation was clear at first then became muffled when the door got closed like it was heard by the characters in the theater. Or the answer by the German officer who kills Shoshana fades so we don’t understand him quite well.
I have to say Inglorious Basterds is one of my favorite Tarantino movies and surpassing my enjoyment of the original would have been surprising, but it came close.
Overall, this edit was fun to watch and made me want to see more from the Red Apple Crew and from ArtisDead as well.
