Brief Synopsis:
The main objective of this edit was to significantly reduce the sillier comedic moments that didn’t quite hit the mark. As a result, it presents Barry as a more mature, competent, and heroic figure. Additionally, I aimed to trim the runtime, getting us to Wayne Manor earlier in the film, while also allowing the action sequences to be fully enjoyed without cutaways to juvenile humor. I hope this can become the version you choose to re-watch if you, like myself, love Michael Keaton's Batman and can do with less Young Barry.
Intention:
I decided to make the Let's Get Nuts Edition to enhances the excitement of the action scenes without comedic cutaways, elevate Ezra's performance by trimming down moment that didn't resonate, and transform the movie into a easy and enjoyable watch. By making these cuts I found I appreciated the cast and filmmakers even more while discovering a different, more fitting tone that lies beneath the original theatrical release.
Special Thanks:
Special thanks to everyone that helped me with this edit and supported me through the fanedit process - @ArtisDead, @Bionicbob, @PanteraSteel, @Wakeupkeo and @DigModiFicaTion!

Editing Details:
Trimming down the sillier comedic moments in the video editing process for a more focused approach. It was essential to me that the transitions between audio and visual edits were seamlessly integrated, so the viewer wouldn't notice changes. I was pleasantly surprised by the difference these edits made in the final product.
Cuts and Additions:
-Trimming countless sillier comedic moments from Young & Old Barry have been removed like "I have to take a shit", "Dipset before the block is hot", "are we always this sweepy?" "you know where it hurts...my dick" & of course the classic "everybody poops". The aim was to make Barry more mature.
-Trimmed down the opening scene of Barry in the coffee shop and re-ordered a few shots.
-Cut the false start to the title intro. There were serious issues Barry needed to attend to, which to me impacted the humor's resonance.
-Removed babies falling from building/microwave scene. This wasn't the best look after everything that happened with Ezra and the dark humour didn't work for me.
-Cut Lasso of Truth & Barry proclaiming he hasn't had sex...
-Removed Barry arriving at work late and being reprimanded. I felt this made him look incompetent at his job that was important to him.
-Heavily trimmed down the two Barry's meeting for the first time. Taking away as many childish Barry lines as possible.
-Trimmed down lab break in scene and cut Barry's tooth flying out when hit by lightning.
-Removed Young Barry using his powers in the streets, causing chaos and being publicly naked. Everything was already established in the apartment, I don't feel they needed to go through all of that. I was very happy with how this worked and transitioned into the next scene.
-Removed shots of Barry shoveling food into his mouth. If you have a sensitivity to chewing sounds like me you will appreciate this.
-Opted to cut the Young Barry's roommates scene to maintain focus on the urgency of stopping Zod and to present Young Barry's character in a more favorable light.
-Added AI voice cloned lines of Barry while in cab going to Wayne Manor. This was a fun experiment.
-Trimmed down Bruce Wayne explaining time travel. This seemed out of character for Batman 89' to know so much about time travel.
-Cut Young Barry racing around Batcave & finding Joker's fake teeth.
-Decided to remove the two Barry's argument in the Batcave to keep the focus on the more crucial conflict with Zod and make them both appear more mature.
-Cut Barry screaming "This rips dick!" before ejecting from the Batwing.
-Removed Barry throwing up during Batman's action sequence in Russia to allow the viewer to further enjoy the great action scene that it actually was.
-"Come on Barbie, lets go party" line has been removed. I didn't think this line made sense for either version of Barry.
-Added explosion sound effects to Batman's Batwing sacrifice to make it sound like he accomplished a bit more damage.
-Opted to remove the multiverses colliding cameos to maintain a more cohesive narrative. Initially, the Batman '66 and George Reeves Superman cameos were taken out as they felt out of place, while still keeping Christopher Reeves & Nic Cage's Superman. After reviewing an earlier cut of this fanedit, it became evident that this leaner version was more focused and impactful, as diverting away to unrelated characters had a potential to distract from the main storyline rather than enhancing it. So the decision was made to cut all colliding world cameos for a smoother viewing experience.
-Added the Batman & Robin theme underneath the George Clooney appearance to make him feel more like Batman and less like...George Clooney doing a cameo.
-Final shot of the film cuts before Barry's tooth falls out. The humour of Clooney's appearance had already been conveyed, the CGI tooth falling out wasn't necessary in my opinion.
-Post Credits Aquaman scene has been removed.
-Credits song changed to "Funny How Time Slips Away" By Billy Walker

This is a VAST improvement over the original.

There were a few noticeable edits in the pacing of dialogue but not overly distracting. I must also agree with the earlier reviwer inregards to the music substitution too. And although the original ending had some awful CGI, which has been expertly trimmed, the emotional hit from that original is somewhat diminished.

Nevertheless, this is an improvement over the original and a great way to spend 100minutes of your time and marvel at what DC should be doing with their IP, and not squadering opportunities as they have with some of their movies.

Well done and thank you for the hard work and saving this movie.

I really liked this edit of the movie. So thank you for the time and effort JordanK!

I also want recommend it to everyone, since this shows how good editing can make or brake a character in the viewer's eyes.

This edit leaves in just the right jokes at the right time but focuses on the story and development of the characters. Just like a good movie is supposed to.

I will not mention any potential flaws or very little personal dislikes here, since this is in the eye of the watcher and I want to concentrate my review on the recommendation of this movie and my gratefulness to the editor!

I was really waiting for a fanedit of this movie to come up. Although I did not like the original almost at all, I had a feeling that something could be done with it at the hand of a talented editor. I knew I could not get something completely new obviously, but at least something enjoyable and not the cringe fest that I watched at the cinema. And along came JordanK!

Gone is almost all of the ridiculous, childish humor of the movie, especially at the beginning with the God-awful CGI babies, gone is the calorie consumption thingy, gone is the cringe fest at the end with all the bad CGI cameos, less Barry on Barry interaction and generally, less stuff that shouldn't be there to begin with. And all this with excellent editing! Whether you've seen the movie or not, you won't notice the changes, that's how smooth the editing is.

The result? A movie that I actually enjoyed and now I can actually watch whenever I have a DCEU marathon!

My only minor issue is that a couple of cuts from the interactions between the Barrys at the beginning were kind of noticeable.

Also, one request, if you could change the upbeat song at the final battle that is completely out of place, that would be great! I mean, everything is going to shit, you see the absolutely serious face of Supergirl trying to kick Zod's ass and you have that ridiculous song playing in the background ruining the moment.

So, I absolutely recommend this edit, even if you did not like the original movie, it might save it, like it did for me, or it will be your go-to version if you kind of liked the original.

Thanks to anyone who read my review and thank you JordanK for all your hard work!

This edit absolutely blew me away. I still cannot believe I enjoyed it as much as I did. This edit brings the film from a 6/10 to a 9/10 for me. It is the definitive cut of the film and should have been released theatrically. The immature, annoying humour is gone, and the humour that is still remaining is excellent and genuinely hilarious at times. The pacing is superb now, perfect, the viewer is always engaged. Ezra Miller's performance is greatly improved here and is far more enjoyable. The entire film is considerably more enjoyable. The edits made are extremely professional, and I never noticed any interference. It does not feel amateur or fan edity in any way. It actually feels far more focused and purposeful than the theatrical release. The cameos removed are appreciated and a wise choice. The drama, depth, acting and screenplay can really shine now, and the film is a pleasure to watch. I never expected to say this, but it is one of my favourite DC films after this viewing. An unexpected pleasant surprise. I can not recommend this cut of the film enough. This is the Flash film we were supposed to see. Highly recommended, 10/10

This review will mostly be about the narrative and enjoyment. When it comes to the audio and visual editing, everything appeared to be seamless, but I am not the most qualified to spot anything unless it is clearly out place.

As for the edit itself, oh my lord! What an absolutely huge difference from the theatrical release. I came into the edit not wanting to know where the AI lines were inserted because that would clearly allow me to listen extra carefully and spot the difference between real and fake. The good news is that the AI lines worked and provided some needed extra exposition. I did not notice the difference while watching as a “first time listener.”

The biggest net positive was the removal of almost all of the toilet humor and improper use of “comedy.” The “comedy” and immature behavior in the theatrical continuously took me out of the movie. Intense moments were repeatedly ruined and the portrayal of both Barry’s, particularly the older one, was simply not acceptable. I like the editor keeping some of the immaturity for the younger Barry to demonstrate the contrast between the wiser and older version. This really helped shape the tone of the movie in a much more positive light. I was able to enjoy the movie all the way through without all those disruptions.

As I read through the editor’s cut list, I found myself agreeing with every single one. I strongly recommend others to use this as the official edition of the Flash they want to watch. It is much smoother and cohesive compared to the theatrical. While the movie still had some holes, overall for me it brought it from a C- to a B+ movie. The grade is not a slight to the editor. This is more of my personal preference to issues with the movie itself that the editor cannot fix. For example, I was not a big fan in the alternate timeline how Zod killed baby Clark and was confused about how he found the baby. It made no logical sense as they just happened to stumble into it without any way of knowing where the ship was sent to. It also confused me how Kara had no idea what happened to her cousin until Zod told her. One would assume she would have been given a method to track her cousin using superior technology if she was supposed to protect him (Maybe some AI lines or repurposed dialogue could fix that problem?)

The only disagreement I have, and it is very slight, has to do with all the cameos at the end. The editor was 100% correct in removing them. Those appearances added nothing of value to the movie other than serving as nostalgia bait. However, I do think it is nice to pay respect to those who came before. I think those can be made into a post credit type of scene or homage just showing them without either of the Flash trio. I think it nice for a viewer to see them without forcing them into the movie itself (except for the Nicolas Cage Superman).
