Excellent edit, adding the parents subplot into the first one was a very smart move, the story is now smoother and much more enjoyable. Loved the morgue deleted scene and Harry's gruesome transformation.

Ho. Ly. Shit. I already thought the original was decent but Masirimso's edit elevates it to a whole new level. Cleaner, faster, and more focused, it lets the film's pros shine through. And has Jamie Foxx's Electro less of an uninteresting "Hate Spider-Man" guy to a sympathetic villain who feels angry at the world for making him feel unimportant. I'd say he's now worthy of the Raimi films in this edit.

Only had three problems with the edit. May's phone call while doing the laundry felt too oddly cut to me, perhaps have everything before she agrees to a double shift cut and just have it start there? Another thing was the odd cut of Harry's prison scene. It just felt it didn't result to anything and would have rather have had the Sinister Six setup retained to have the film a "Gamera: Revenge Of Iris"-type ending. Finally, I wish Masirimso keep the subplot of Richard using his blood for the experiments and having only the Parkers be able to use it. That was the main reason that Peter said no to Harry using his blood since it would not have worked and just have resulted in a mutation.

As a whole though, bravo Masirimso. Bravo. You've turned a OK film into one of the best.

This is highly superior to the theatrical release! As of right now, this Untold fan edit series to me is the definitive way to watch these movies. Obviously neither of them are perfect, but the source material isn't perfect either. I had a few thoughts about improvements, but I think that's ultimately preference and the editor did an amazing job. He totally redeemed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for me!

I was skeptical of this edit after seeing the TASM1 Untold Story Edition. Cause I felt without that story this movie might feel empty while the first felt like a wholly standalone story. I've always been under the impression that the parents storyline should've been a trilogy-long plot, only concluding in the third film, with the second film being more development between the beginning and end. What we got in the TC was it not only weirdly not continuing the set-ups of the plot in TASM1 and instead reintroducing a completely different view of the plot, but rushing through and finishing it all here. So when I saw it all being wrapped up in the first film, despite it being better done there due to not cutting off the plot in the way the theatrical films do, I was afraid it would make TASM1 feel too much like a film that can't be the start of a saga but only a standalone story, and make TASM2 feel both hollow and superfluous.

I was wrong. In fact, making TASM1 an epic standalone tale actually makes this second film being made shorter make more sense. It's the thin meat between two buns (Only we never got TASM3 so. that's still missing), rather than being the epic next step. The parents plotline does still influence the plot here, only with Peter knowing everything it now makes more sense why he distrusts Harry and refuses to give him his blood. It's a shorter middle step in a larger story, with an imaginary third film following this one being, in my mind, longer and more epic and tying in the drama of this film with the origins of TASM1's story. Maybe Norman Osborn faked his death and was using Harry's despiration to get to Spider-Man, leading to Peter finally confronting the man who caused his parents' death. Idk, I might write a fan-script version of TASM3 that follows these edits.

Now that my main concern is fixed, everything great about Untold Story applies here as well. Excellent editing, wonderful pacing, this feels like the drama Mark Webb would've wanted to make. I can also now definitively call Untold Story the best version of TASM1, contrary to my original opinion. Both Untold Editions in tandem are now the way to see these films if you ask me.

Although I am a DC fan, or rather I became one growing up, overall, Spider-Man is my all time favourite superhero! I have read lots of comics, both with Peter and Miles Morales, seen the great Amazing Spider-Man animation and of course, watched several times all 8 of his movies. The original two Amazing Spider-Man films, were really hit or miss for me. Several good stuff in them and several bad. Let's say, for the second Amazing movie, my overall enjoyment factor was a 7, mostly because they had the balls to kill Gwen (spoiler alert) and, for me, it has the best and most comic-accurate Spider-Man costume ever!

When I came upon the "Untold" edits I was really really intrigued. I mean, having all the "Peter parents" plot from the second movie into the first, which was his origin film, made perfect sense! And for this one, maybe it became a little better without several distractions.

As with the previous one, the visual and audio editing here was again, excellent! You could not tell if anything was tampered with or missing. So job well done for a second time!!

On the narrative side of things, did the movie become better without all the removed stuff? Overall yes, quite a bit! I was able to enjoy great Spidey action and humor without unnecessary distractions from before. But, there was another, negative, thing that came out brighter than before, by removing all the fat. The poorly written and totally rushed Green Goblin. Seriously, I realised it even more with this edit. And the unfortunate thing is, you cannot remove him because he kills Gwen (again, spoiler alert). So we are stack with this character..

A minor gripe that I have, is that the editor also kept Rhino at the end. But I understand, you can't close the film with a funeral, plus if you remove Rhino, you have to remove the scene with the little kid, which was great! Still, if a way was found to end the movie without Rhino, (maybe some web slingin around town?), it would be less cringey.

So, I definitely recommend to check this out, I believe it will be your go-to version, unless you absolutely hated the original. For me it will be from now on!

Thank you Marisimo17 and thanks to anyone who read my review!
