So, this is my third review of Wakeupkeo's work. As always, my quick thoughts on the original film first. I did not like it. Like, at all. I was just happy I got to see Cheetah in a live action movie, but that was it. So we are talking about an enjoyment factor around 2. Knowing this, I knew it would be a tough save, no matter how talented the editor. I mean, if you don't like the core of the movie, trimming the fat or restructuring stuff won't reinvent the wheel. That being said, I am a huge DC fan, so I'm willing to see what can be done with a bad entry in the DCEU and generally give it a shot.

Having seen two previous edits from Wakeupkeo, both of them DC films also, I wasn't expecting anything less than perfect in the audio/visual editing side of things. And that's what I got. And the interesting thing is that this movie had the most changes of all three films that I saw, which means no matter how high the bar is, Wakeupkeo is up to the task! So job well done!!

Now to the important part, the story/narrative. Did it save it for me? No it didn't. But man was it an improvement!! I did not miss those 42 minutes of the original film for a single moment! Nor was I able to spot or "feel" any tampering, in general, throughout the movie. The story was streamlined, gone 42 minutes of bad jokes and unnecessary scenes and of course, new 80's soundtrack!

I had a couple of issues though:
- The soundtrack, although great, I found it a bit excessive. I think the movie could use a couple of songs less.
- The cat-like growling of Cheetah was smart, but I thought it became cartoony when she flat out meowed when she was electrocuted and then drowning.
- The text about Max Lord's whereabouts in the end, was also unnecessary, for me. I mean, we already don't give a damn about the guy, why should we care what he did after the incident? But even if someone liked him as a villain, I still don't think it adds something meaningful.
- Lastly, but this doesn't matter, like, at all, is the extra scene at the end. I just didn't care for that, nothing more.

Overall, if someone found the movie 'ok' and above, then you will love this and it will be your go-to version of the movie! But even if you didn't like the original, I still recommend to give a shot at this edit, it might suprise you!

Thank you Wakeupkeo and thanks to anyone who read my review!

Hated the original movie, loved the edit. The new soundtrack is better, the creepy body snatcher is gone, the weird Apex predator line bye bye.... excellent work !

When WW84 was released I tought it was a mess. Too long and boring, Diana is a rapist and a lot more of stupid stuff. Seeing this Wakeupkeo fanedit is like watching a less stupid mess. Don´t get me wrong, I still think the movie is garbage but that is the writers and director´s fault not Wakeupkeo´s. His fanedit is way more entertaining and intelligent than the official release, all the new songs work great, the new credits look very professional and it felt like I was watching a professional studio release! The only thing that dragged me out of this feeling was the credits over Max and his son (they felt too rushed in my opinion). And I loved the cat noises from Cheetah! hahaha

short quick review....
If you haven't watched WW84 yet, DON'T... watch this edit instead!
If you loved the first WW and hated WW84, watch this edit!

While still not an "awesome" movie, this edit did the best it could to make this movie somewhat actually enjoyable... some great music additions. Loved the Weird Science addition!!! The VH song came out in '86, but since the "84" was dropped from the title.... it works!!!
Some smart cuts to the movie as well... goodbye, creepy body-stealer Steve!

Overall, this is definitely "an-almost awesome" adventure that's worth checking out...

This is a remarkable edit, as it took one of the worst movies I've seen in recent memory and turned it into something quite enjoyable.

Adding the score that, frankly, should've been there in the first place really makes the movie pop. Why set it in the 80's, film it like a campy 80's movie, and then have Hans Zimmer do an overwrought score for it? Never made sense to me. This is the way it should've been to begin with. It did get maybe a tad too "needle dropy" in places, that Suicide Squad effect, but it works well here because it's fun and fits the overall style of the movie.

I didn't miss anything that was cut, and the shorter runtime makes for a breezy, fast paced movie. This movie was originally a total slog to get through, but at under 2 hours, it's now just right. I also didn't miss the opening flashback sequence. Though cool, it didn't tonally fit the movie to begin with, and really doesn't fit with the changes that were made. A solid cut.

My only criticism is that I don't think the editing of Steve Trevor's arrival quite works. I don't know how else it could've been done save for some deep fake trickery, but it's the only cut in the movie that feels like a cut. It just doesn't flow naturally like the rest of the changes do, but again, it's a tricky cut and the payoff for it is worth it.

That minor quibble aside, this is a stellar fanedit. I can't overstate how much this improved the movie for me. I never wanted to see WW84 again, and now it's one of the better DCEU films. Bravo!
