I was one of the very few people who actually kind of liked "Thor: Dark World". My main problems with it were the, now, infamous Marvel humor. I mean, especially having Thor and the main villain at end of the movie where they're fighting, act like clowns, was unforgiveable for me. Plus, all the other ridiculous scenes throughout the movie. My enjoyment factor was like a 6-7. When I found this edit, I was excited not only because of the humor removal, but also because of the plot changes/fine-tuning.

Quality and audio/visual editing was great! I didn't notice or "felt" that any scenes were tampered with in any way. So, no complains here, well done!

Narrative wise, always the most important part, it was a significant improvement over the theatrical one! I was really enjoying this film, up until the third act, were I realized the editor left all the ridiculous humor of the final fight intact. I seriously couldn't believe it..I mean, why? You did such a good job up until now. I was so frustrated that this was my only gripe, that I actually edited this myself. Obviously, I'm not as skilled, I used jump cuts, but I preferred it over having Thor sliding at the glass with the classic silly sound or taking the metro. I also edited out a scene at the restaurant with Darcy, Jane and her date, which did nothing for me plot wise or humor wise, and thus I got my ultimate version of the movie and took my enjoyment factor to a 9!

Be that as it may, I still recommend this edit to anyone who found the film mediocre and disliked the bad humor, but watch this knowing that the humor at the end is almost intact!

Thank you TM2YC and thanks to anyone who read my review!

In my personal quest to find out the right fanedits to fully enjoyed the whole (most of it) MCU I happily encounter Thor - Dark World: Hard Forged Edition and it is absolutely a vast improvement over the theatrical version. I watched this film 5 years ago and I felt it as a missing opportunity - I got pretty bored with it. This edit brings cohesion to the MCU and subtly introduces the first of the infinity stones. Moreover, it helps to increase resonance to Thor's feelings in Endgame installment when the god of thunder returns to Asgard. So, this edit is worthy to be revisited and from now on my to-go version of this movie.

Here, the audio/video edition is seamless and the narrative is significantly improved just re-ordering the scenes. This is masterfully achieved by TM2YC. I would like to justify my lower score in the remaining fields. Audio/video quality is good but not superb in the MP4 (HD) format. It will be a nice upgrade if a better version is released. Especially, some scenes in Asgard suffer much from poor CGI which is more notorious in this edit compared for example to the Blu-ray version. In terms of audio, 2 channels are provided. Finally, my enjoyment was not higher due to the source material itself (nothing to do with the faneditor).

I really encourage to watch this edit and enjoy what TM2YC has achieved with imo a very poor source material.

I think I am the only person I know who actually liked the theatrical release of The Dark World. I'm constantly defending it, even sometimes when I shouldn't, just so people will give it another watch and see if it surprises them. But this... this Hard Forged edition is truly the definitive version of the film for me going forward. Usually, around halfway through the original cut, I get bored, but watching this edit, I was never bored.

Thank you, TM2YC, for creating a film that is truly worthy of the MCU. It will make a fine addition to my collection.

Man oh man, TM2YC does it again! He took a mediocre MCU movie with some interesting elements and edited it in a way that makes full use of its potential.
The Thor movies are not the most celebrated in MCU, but I've always found him to be a nice change of pace espeically in the early years when everything was either Iron man or Captain America.
Overall, the editing was seamless, and it felt like an actual movie from MCU, albeit better. The quality of the version was excellent, pretty much blu-ray quality. I enjoyed the narrative much more, and I felt that it had a more mythological angle since, especially since we are experiencing the new details with Jane Foster, whose first trip to Asgard is made more interesting this way. Jane Foster, I feel, is redeemed in this way, and Thor is also made more interesting.
---SPOILERS---
I enjoyed how he cut the prologue and seamlessly put it back as a flashback when Odin is retelling the story. Instead of having to hear about the dark elves again, now it makes sense to show it here, and we are finding it out about all for the first time along with Jane. Changing the subtitles of the Dark Elves was a great idea too, as it gives them some gravitas with how they speak. Show, don't tell is emphasized in this cut, which I appreciate. He makes the ending more complete and satisfying by using some of the post-credits scene. Finally, cutting out the romantic triangle with Saif was a good idea in the long run, especially with the event of Thor: Ragnorok.
Also, by making Loki's return at the end made subtle, I feel like his replacement of Odin is more effective in Thor Ragnorok, in my opinion.
Overall, highly recommend this cut from TM2YC, who makes a 6.5/10 MCU movie into a 8.5/10 movie that is more re-watchable and is on par with other good MCU movies.

The Marvel Cinematic universe has a formula that works for a lot of people, among those me, for the Original Thor Dark World movie they hired a visionary director who had a vision of the character and world but didn't agree with the formula and that clash was reflected on the movie. In this edit we get a different view of things almost a "what if" the director had more creative freedom. I really enjoyed this edit, I liked the jokes on the original one and was glad that they remained here, the narrative of the movie flows better and we don't get repetitions of some plots and jokes, unfortunately it can do miracles with the antagonist of the movie but overall this edit is fantastic as are all of TM2YC's edits. The video and audio as always are flawless, the transitions make it seem as if this was the original film, congratulations, great work.
