Brief Synopsis:
The Champion's Edition is an all-new extended cut of the Thor Threquel, that reinstates an alternate Dr Strange scene, as compared to my last version which removed him entirely. All new VFX has been completed, and full-frame IMAX sequences have been integrated.

Nine new, extended, alternate and deleted scenes have been reinserted into the film, adding 13 minutes of new footage into the film.
Intention:
I wanted to go back to my Thor 3 edit, and update the VFX, and also put Doctor Strange back into the film, using the alternate version of the scene, that references Odin's local being NY.
I also just wanted to generally redo most of the transitions and editing, as I wasn't happy with them.

A slight disappointment on this one -- I had gone in hoping for a definitive, perfect Ragnarok (considering how many alternate scenes and fan edits there are, a tall order to be sure) and this isn't quite that, although as a fun alternative way to experience one of the best MCU movies, it's hardly a failure. The alternative Odin death scene, while fantastic (and preferable -- lookit that Kirby Krackle!) doesn't really fit well with the rest of the movie itself or this edit, as there's still a few references to events as they transpired in the theatrical cut.

However, Bobson does superlative work elsewhere with re-inserting deleted scenes and (mostly) completing unfinished special effects, although I think I noticed one Grandmaster-and-assistant scene where the background still appears incomplete?

Maybe I'm just being picky because in my perfect world, whatever YouTube user had that genius idea of using "Thunderstruck" for the bridge battle instead of milking "Immigrant Song" a second time should be the standard Ragnarok fan edit move going forward. Either way, I'm still open to seeing new variations of this movie, and this is definitely one that shouldn't be missed, although a second pass mightn't be the worst idea.

This is my first review so bare with me haha

I really loved this edit and enjoyed it more overall than the original I'd say. The only thing I thought that was better in the original version is Odin's death just because it gives him more dignity as he passes, but I do believe the alternative here is not just a complete loss. It really highlights Hela being a bad-a. even more so than the original where she just breaks Thor's hammer. So a fair trade in my opinion but that's just preference. I'm gonna watch this version for future rewatches of Ragnarok, thanks for the great work!

I don't consider myself a fan of extended versions of films, as I am a firm believer in the phrase, "less is more," but I have a very soft spot for Bobson Dugnutt's extended editions, especially the Star Wars Darkighter Cut, which shed some new light on Episode IV in a very satisfying way. I don't think Thor: Ragnarok is my favorite edit from Bobson, but I still like it, and most of what's been added back in worked for me.

The only change I didn't like was the alternate Odin death scene, as I think the original version in Norway was far more emotionally resonant, and gave the film a little more seriousness that was needed.

Otherwise, the remaining additions get a thumbs up! I may have to pick up the Sakaaran edition to see how it compares to this cut, but I liked the Dr. Strange scenes that have been brought in to this edit, even if they do give off the joke-y Marvel feel that's often criticized. I like how these extras with Strange foreshadowed the climax, and setup Thor's very grim future in the MCU (You'll understand if you've already seen Infinity War and Endgame). I liked the extra background on the Grandmaster. The conversation between Thor and Bruce on Dumbo gives a nice little character moment. And I appreciated seeing some more scenes in the IMAX aspect ratio, which my standard blu-ray wasn't kind enough to give me.

All in all, I liked this take on Thor's third outing in the MCU, and I recommend it to anyone who considers themselves a Marvel fan.
