This is now my go to edit of the Last Jedi.
I don't have enough technical knowledge to break down all the details but I will say that had I never seen the original in theater, I would've never known or realized that the Casino sub plot existed. Thats how seemless this was.
The changes were welcome as they create a better narrative and allow Luke's character to feel even more important and stand out as well as Rey. This truly feels like a LOT of the "fat" was cut away (within reason).
Most important to me, the ending or more specifically how Luke's story ends feel more true and definitely is more of an incredibly welcome fan service that makes one wish THIS was canon.

Personally this is now my go to version of Last Jedi. Leaner, tighter, feels more focused and a better pay off that elicits a better sense of hope for the future of the series than the original did IMO.

Can't recommend it enough.

To say this edit is better than the original, is an understatement. It's amazing how much better the movie is once you take out the obnoxious material. While I still don't like certain elements (Rey's parents, Luke still acting OOC and Admiral Ackbar receiving an underwhelming death), I still enjoyed this almost infinitely more than the version released in cinemas (even if the deleted scene of Poe telling Finn what happened while he was in a coma was pretty pointless.

I hadn’t watched the original cut since seeing it in the theater. Every time I started watching it again, I stopped at the cellphone joke.

I think this cut has a really good overall balance of humor, removing quite a bit, but leaving some in. I laughed at the jokes in this cut, possibly because there weren’t as many, and it didn’t feel as forced.

I wanted to list all of the changes I liked about this film, but I don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it.

Holdo and Rose have some good moments in their abbreviated appearances. In a different fancut I watched, they were removed completely, and it made the movie worse. They’re not my favorite characters, but I’m glad they’re here. Maybe I would’ve liked to see them a tad bit more even, but I’m being nitpicky. I wish Finn had a few more moments, but it’s impossible to please everyone and make something this coherent. And I really hate that space casino from the original cut, so maybe this is the best option.

The deleted scenes were a surprise and fun. I hadn't seen them, so they felt really fresh. The Rise of Skywalker footage was used nicely too. The ending was nice and felt very Star Wars. Even this footage felt tighter here. Thumbs up.

The editing is mostly seamless. There might be two instances where I felt something might have been missing. But those moments pass fast, when the action picks up.

I really think this might be my favorite version of the film. I liked this a lot. I’m looking forward to watching The Rise of Skywalker Anti-Cringe Cut now too!

I cannot compare it to the original because I couldn't get through it unfortunately. But I was able to get through this edit and that's saying something. I removed some points from narrative because I didn't get the reason why Rose (Had to looki it up) was even there in the first place. Some friends told me she is supposed to be Finn's love interest but there is none of that here as far as I can tell and it feels like she gets some random screen time for no reason. Also some of the cheesy lines and jokes remain but there is nothing to be done about that because they are part of the story. However this is a re-edit of the original film so there is nothing more to be expected unless you want all the drawbacks. All in all I enjoyed it, but I can say that I most probably won't be watching the new one when it comes out unless there is a fan edit of it...

DonKamillo did an excellent job in fixing The Last Jedi from a muddled mess into a coherent and solid Star Wars movie.

Gone is the entire Canto Bight waste of time, Finn and Rose aboard the Dreadnaught, Benecio Del Toro, and even Poe's pointless mutiny. I didn't even think about removing that last one but wow that helps a lot. The edit gives Finn and Rose much less to do but they weren't written well for the theatrical cut so I don't mind. I also love that Leia stays dead and the movie loses nothing for it. Same with Luke NOT being dead! Bold choices and they work MUCH better.

I had a few quibbles, mainly hoping to cut Rose out completely (she's really pointless) and minimize a few more silly modern sarcastic jokes (they just don't work in the world of Star Wars) but this is my definitive cut overall. I can't wait to watch your Rise Of Skywalker edit next!
