Great power, great responsibility. That is the theme that defines spider-man. Spider-Man Homecoming completely throws that out the window in favor of filler fluff, forced humor, obnoxious name dropping, reliance too much on Iron Man, cameos, references and Aunt May being hot to distract from a weak story.

Masi's fan edit trims out some of the many flaws, and does make it a more tolerable experience. The best cuts being editing out Aunt May's only character trait being that she's hot, the Vulture teleporter gun joke and Peter's line at the end "That was a test right?" that completely ruins whatever shred of character development he had.

Visual editing and cuts were perfect with only 2 small mistakes I noticed. The waiter hitting on Aunt May was editing out, but there's a lingering shot of the waiter that is abruptly cut. I would recommend, just ending the scene with Peter saying "I need a new backpack" in order to cut the waiter shot out completely.
In this version Vulture intentionally kills Shocker which is awesome, but there's still a lingering shot of Vulture's confused look on his face when Shocker died. Other than that, Top notch.

Video quality was darkened, I would imagine to give a darker atmosphere. It works in most shots, but when Peter's under the rubble I could barely see him.
Audio quality was perfect.

Audio editing, changing the track for the ferry added some punch to what was going on, which is definitely needed for such a big moment of the movie. I was a little confused after the last Vulture fight when Tobey's Spider-Man theme plays instead of this movie's Spider-Man theme. However, it didn't bother me at all.

Narrative: It's the same story, I never felt like something was missing. As for the addition of Uncle Ben's flashback. I think it's a cool idea in theory, but all I could think about was the Sony movies. It never felt like this universe's version of Uncle Ben.

Enjoyment : Any lack of enjoyment is the original films fault and not that of Masi.

Masi's version is just better than the original, plain and simple. If I have to watch this movie all the way through again, I'll for sure be watching Masi's version. I recommend this for anyone who already likes Homecoming, but if you're someone like me who doesn't like the original, this isn't a complete overhaul to change that. It's just a tweaked version.

Preparing for No Way Home, I decided to give this edit a try, see a different editor's perception of the film.

This was quite a surprise, with the removal of some jokes that didn't land and details that dont really amount to anything this is a very streamlined viewing of Homecoming.

The new scene created for this edit was really well done, during the lowest point of Peter's situation, a masterclass of the title of the edit.

This edit may not change anyone's opinion of MCU Spider-Man, but it does make it a much more grounded film, with the empahis of using one's power responsibly.

This was over all a fantastic Spider-Man edit, and inserted some semblance of the one thing it was missing (Uncle Ben) but that was also the source of the only problem I had with the edit: the segue back from the flashback was like getting hit with a hammer. That audio was not a smooth transition, and it really destroyed the moment. I also really hated that Uncle Ben death, but I get it. It was really the only one that made any sense with the younger May. Everything else about this edit I felt was fantastic and even an improvement over Bobson's excellent edit in that it trims a little of the over the top stuff. Over all, still going to become my go to edit for this movie. Strongly recommended.

Thanks, the glitched audio transition from the Ben flashback to the dance has been fixed in v1.1. I used the alternate death in my Amazing edit so it made sense to repurpose the deleted version in this one to be more unique (instead of reusing the Spider-Man 1/Spider-Man 3 version with Thomas Haden Church as the killer which would be more jarring in my opinion). I think it fits the "doing good things because you can" theme as well. Plus as you said the ages matched up better, and there weren't that many shots from behind or above of Tobey Maguire really mourning over Ben's body as much as Andrew Garfield.

As a big fan of MCU Spider-Man, this edit makes some good changes that I like. I quite liked the Uncle Ben flashback, it was quite well-executed and smartly edited. I'm also glad the "8 years" continuity error is fixed, and the edit to make Toomes more ruthless was good as well. I always thought it was a bit of a cop-out to just have it be an accident.

I don't agree with every change made here, though. "I never liked how Tony kinda gave a killing machine to a kid", he didn't, they hacked into the suit to unlock those features, Tony wasn't going to let him use it until he was ready. That's what the entire "Training Wheels" protocol was for. Also, due to me and the editor having different tastes in humor, he cut quite a few of the jokes I liked. I also don't like adding Sam Raimi's Spider-Man theme to this movie, it makes it stand out as fan-made. Each Spider-Man theme is a part of that Spidey's identity, so mixing the themes feels wrong.

Not much else to say, it's mostly the same movie, just with some changes that I liked and some I didn't.

My preferred edit of Homecoming. Cuts are unnoticeable, it and sounds looks crisp, and the additions made improved upon the original, The Iron Man 3 themes were welcome, but I loved the way the responsibility theme was incorporated into scenes, used appropriately to give more weight to Peter's decisions. Even the small flashback to Uncle Ben helped crystallize what the editor said the film kept vague, the need to Peter's want (as an aside I love how the editor chose to use Peter's own words describe the situation rather than have the direct Great Reponsibility quote). The only reason the visual editing isn't a ten is because I noticed a very brief frame right after Peter's flashback and the school deleted scene could have been color corrected more, but this is still a worthwhile, fantastic edit,
