I absolutely loved this edit. This is exactly what The Batman should have been, a HBO series about Batman. I think Batman works better if it was show similar to Daredevil, putting Batman in a detective drama works very well for the character. And making it like a 4 issue miniseries just like Batman Year One is absolute genius. It's the only comic book movie that feels like a comic book.

I really like some of the small changes as well. In the original cut Batman bends over at the car crash to see if the Penguin alright, with I think ruins the scene considering Batman is trying to look intimidating in that moment, But you fixed it. the cuts you made were greatly integrated. One thing that I didn't like was how you did the opening titles at the beginning of each episode. I think they covered up the scenes too much, I think instead of using the whole background you could of overlaid the text on the scene so none of the shots lose any detail.

But goddamn, I loved watching this cut of the movie. I think you should do it again with the next batman or any other film. keep up the good work Don. Thank You

Having not seen the movie because of the 3 hour runtime, this was exactly what I was looking for. I watched one episode per night, for four nights. After the third episode I didn't have any complaints at all, I thought the whole thing was absolutely fantastic.

All of my complaints, in fact, come from things that happen in the fourth episode. Movie tropes that only detract from the movie.
*SPOILERS BELOW*
Catwoman leaves the city, then shows up at the exact moment Batman needs help. Why?
There's a child that was in the movie earlier, who happens to be the same child that needs to be saved in an action scene. It's the kind of thing that happens in movies, but why does it have to? It detracts from the realism.
Alfred turns out to be alive and well in the hospital after opening a letterbomb intended to assassinate Bruce Wayne. Why? So there can be a movie moment at the end where he and Bruce can say they love each other? It only neuters the scene where he 'died'.

Honestly if I were to edit this myself, it would literally just be DonKamillo's episodes 1 to 3. Just scrap the whole episode 4. I think it leaves the movie in a better place and the whole thing would be better off.

tl;dr Maybe just don't watch episode 4. The rest is fantastic.

I tried to mitigate the Alfred being alive part, by having him wake up at the end of the whole thing instead of almost right after the bombing. There's not much more you could do IMO other than scrapping the whole scene which I didn't want to do, because Alfred is barely in the movie anyway :)

And catwoman doesn't leave and come back in my cut but she leaves and on her way out of the city gets stopped because of the flood. So she has no choice but to "come back" because she's stuck in the city anyway.

Glad you enjoyed the edit though (at least 75% of it ;) ) and thanks for the review!

My biggest complaint with this movie was that it felt too long and bloated. Taking it in in increments, even in this episodic format, made it feel more digestive. I enjoyed the title cards and how the scenes were interspersed like in a regular TV show, and overall, made this the de facto way to watch the movie. I highly recommend you check this out, ESPECIALLY if you're more of a "TV" series fan!

I already loved the theatrical edition of The Batman, but I did immediately realize it was going to be struck with "Dark Knight Syndrome", where a superhero movie I really enjoy is inevitably bogged down with a long runtime. Don Kamillo has fixed that major issue making the story more accessible right outta the gate, couple that with some extremely creative cuts and edits and you have, imho, the ideal way to take in this phenomenal story! Cannot recommend you check this one out enough. An older review summed it up best: "If you loved The Batman, watch this edit. If you hated The Batman, watch this edit."

In 2022 i dug deep into the topic of Fan Edits. So this is my first, but not last Review.
I am used to see Movies as they come, at the Big Screen and often on my Sofaplex, as i am Part of A Podcast Team that talks about Movies and TV Shows.

So seeing The Batman at Home, in the Format of an TV Show really triggered me.
I liked the Cinema Cut , allthough not flawless. I did not connect good with the female lead, i have to say, i found no real chemistry here.

Watching it again as Mini Series was a treat, a blast, good fun and it was well recieved in my house.
The Editing is great, and if you remember my entry words i am no Editor, no Cutter and i have never done something like this, so purely from the eyes of someone wactching it and NOT finding Hickups i can say: Excellent Job.

My only small issue is the Joker. he does not fit in. I gues sits intriguing to put that scene in, but since that scene was released, it was clear in my head, that it should be out.
To much "Silents of the Lambs" for my taste, if you know what i mean.

Other than that and as said before: Great Job.
DonKamillo treated us with a extremyl good reason for my buddy Sandro to no watch it:
My buddy refuses to watch Fan Edits for one reason only:
"What if i love a Movie, and than i like the Fan Edit more ?"
Well, i guess Sandro will never see this one than :)

I liked this Version better.
Yes, I said it.
Maybe its my love for good Televison, or its the fact, that all the Bits are very well Orchestrated here.
