Batman v Superman Dawn Of Justice had left me disappointed and frustrated. While the Extended cut made the movie a little more comprehensible it was still a major let down with all the same issues, mainly a movie trying to essentially cram three movies worth of material into one.

Thank God then for Batman V Superman No Justice! Reese Evans masterfully edits a 3 hour plus bloated mess, into a nicely paced 2 hour movie, with a focused narrative, focusing purely on the central conflict between Batman and Superman.

Unfortunately there was no way around “Save Martha” and Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor performance. But there’s no unnecessary Wonder Woman cameo, no poorly executed Justice League intros, no Doomsday thus no death of Superman (which should of been it's own movie). And I even appreciate some of the edits to Batman's fight scenes, which now do not paint Batman out to be a sadistic killing machine.

In short this is the version of Batman V Superman we should of got in the first place.

Reese has done so much to improve this film it's uncanny. When watching this in theaters, I remember being shocked when Doomsday appeared, thinking to myself, "there's no way they could be introducing Doomsday and starting in on the Death of Superman storyline this late in the film, is there?" Well, Reese saw also that this portion of the movie had no place being in this film and managed to masterfully excise it while still making the film feel like it has an epic finale. Additionally, he tightened up the film by trimming off many unnecessary sequences and making Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor as tolerable as is possible given the available footage. I do not foresee there being a better edit of Batman v Superman. Highly recommended to all DC fans.

Reese Evans has made complete magic with this film. The theater cut was a huge disappointment for me. With lackluster editing that tried to cram together parts of the movie along with completely unnecessary dream sequences that made no sense, with trailers for their next films that hurt the overall product. As a movie fan, I was completely disappointed with it. As a Batman fan I was devastated to see the badly characterization of Batman as a mass murderer as well. What Reese Evans has done is what I hoped the Ultimate Cut would do. This cut has made every single change I wanted, and made it in such a professional editing, it well could have been the theatrical cut. Amongst other things the magic of editing has made superman's self doubt far from the constant sadness. Made the Lois Lane subplot become the meaningful part of the film it should have always been. And the simple yet major change of Batman not killing regular criminals adds weight to his resolve to murder Superman, and makes the Martha scene much more meaningful. All in all, the No Justice Cut is indeed the Definitive Cut. And Reese's skill is undisputed.

An excellent edit that streamlined the BvS story effectively without the Justice League subplot. The film worked as a story of man vs god and a chess game with a deranged mastermind. A few minor gripes: the scene where Batman says to a weakened Superman "I promise you, Martha Kent will not die tonight" could have been retained to ease the transition to Batman rescuing her (to explain why Superman couldn't do it) and removing Batman jumping from his Batwing into the warehouse window was unnecessary, but again, these gripes are minor and don't detract from the overall experience.

A highly recommended alternative to the original BvS /Ultimate Edition.
