I don't know how else to say it: I am _confused_ by how good this Batman v Superman fan edit is. How with only the available footage was such a different cohesive story built. It's phenomenal. Watching it made me actually understand what the original film at some point must have been going for, a battle and moral question of man vs a god. And the changed ending climax that brings it to a close. (For pete's sake, it even made me like the infamous "Martha!" scene as I finally understood what it was supposed to symbolize.)

As far as the actual editing it was near flawless, despite remove sizable chucks and choices (such as gun-crazy Bats in the original). There was maybe one shot - inside the abandoned building with the spear where I think a shot is reused to set the location that felt awkward. But somehow a dramatic rewrite in terms of character is otherwise perfect.

I really am in shock. Breathtaking work. Look forward to screening it to as many people as possible. DC, hire this guy.

Amazing, although there are some scenes I would trim down a tiny bit more
I also appreciate what you did with the Martha scene, since I believe that was the point of the scene in the initial movie, its just that people just didn't get it

In the words of Janice from the tv show Friends, "OH. MY. GOD!"
Before I get ahead of myself, my brief thoughts on the original. I liked a lot the theatrical version and I looved the extended edition. So, I didn't come here for a fanfix, I came because I was intrigued of the editor's premise, a very different, grounded film. And that's what I got!

This edit is a testament to what a talented editor can achieve if he has a vision and a lot of resource material to work with. The movie is three hours long, plus some unused scenes from trailers etc, so lots of stuff to go through. And voilĂ , a whole new film emerged!

Technical wise, although it's been some time since I watched it but I didn't have a fanedit account back then to make a review, it was excellent. I don't remember noticing the changes (obviously I knew what was missing) or "feel" that something was tampered with. Everything was smooth. When I rewatch it, if I do notice something, I will edit my review. Nevertheless, a job well done here!

And now the important part, the narrative. Guys, I couldn't believe what I was watching. I couldn't believe that there was a different movie, whithin the movie that I already loved. This was a BvS, without ANY other subplot, beside just that, Batman not trusting his own guts, let alone a godlike being chilling on earth. The narrative was excellent, nothing was missing and everything, for these two, made sense. The only reason I graded with a 9 the narrative, is for DCEU continuity. You can watch this after MoS or even watch WW after, but JL is out of the question. But it doesn't matter! This is an experience on its own!

So, this is recommended for anyone who disliked the original or, like me, just wants more of DC and doesn't mind seeing a different version of what he already loves, without bothering about continuity!

Thank you reeseevans and thanks to anyone who read my review!

Let me start by saying I did not care for the unedited version of Batman Vs. Superman, nor am I a huge fan of either character. That said, I enjoyed this fantastic edit from start to finish. The edited story is much simpler, easier to follow, more mature, and satisfying. Chalk up another movie saved by fan editors. Highly recommended.

I think this is the best version POSSIBLE of this movie. Still has some big problems with the characters of Superman, Lex and the narrative as a whole but this are things impossible to fix with editing alone.

The climax of the movie feels RIGHT this time around and the Lex Luthor plan makes much more sense now. No disconnected shit leading to other movies, is just pure and simple Batman and Superman. Putting the bath scene in the end was genius.

The only thing that didn`t land to me was the flashback of Martha Wayne in the warehouse. Of all the Batman killing scenes in this movie this is the one that least needed a strong motivation of him to pull the trigger.
