Brief Synopsis:
I began this project because I actually liked a lot The Amazing Spider-Man when it was released back in 2012, but it was not free of errors. So basically, I did this edit because I wanted to improve something that was by it's own very solid.
Intention:
My intention in this fan edit was to change a little bit the origin story because I felt it was unresolved by Peter beginning to search for his Uncle's killer and then he drops the quest. There is no resolution on the character that makes you believe that he wanted to become a real hero after an hour. Instead, I wanted to make it seem like he was marked by his uncle's last words and that inspired him to become a hero. Also, I added the deleted scenes because I felt the edition in the original was kind of choppy. These scenes help character development in Dr. Connors, his relationship with Peter and it lets you to explore a new theme that it was never explored in the original.
Special Thanks:
MWRK. Without you, i would have never finished this. You taught me a lot and I will apply it in future re-editions. Thank you so much.

Cuts and Additions:
-First, I corrected the brightness and contrast because in the original there was some kind of gray mask and it made the movie a little bit dark. Now it is corrected.
-I inserted a Disclaimer before the movie starts.
-I added all the deleted scenes, except the one where Peter and Gwen go to the clock tower because I thought it was unnecessary. Even the doorman scene and the POV sequence complete is now included.
-I cut the best I could the cheesy dialogue between Peter and Gwen. No "We could... or we could" and no "I've been bitten"
-The origin story has been changed a little bit. Peter becomes Spidey because of his Uncle's words, not because he was searching his killer.
-No Rodrigo Guevara at the beginning of Oscorp. It was kind of silly and it makes look like Oscorp's security is stupid as hell
-Peter does not become Flash's friend at the end of the movie
-Peter goes to sewers to search Connors because he needed to investigate, not because he saw a reward for pictures. It makes him seem like he is opportunistic.

Audio/Video Quality:
Completely fine, nothing wrong that I noticed

Visual/Audio Editing:
Also good, does the job, nothing wrong except for some sudden musical changes

Narrative:
The movie is cut down to the basic spiderman story layout, this movie is just his origins, Gwen Stacy, and his first enemy, the movie is pretty much just a faithful-as-possible-to-the-comics edition. The edit was fun, fast, and interesting. The deleted scenes added nothing to the movie in order to make it better story wise but they were fun. Spiderman is not supposed to be the most serious story-focused franchise (after all, it's called "spiderman" what the hell do you expect?) and this edit removed the parts that tried to be more serious when it came to character development but didn't really help the story at all (looking at Harry hunting down ben's killer).

Enjoyment:
A fun, focused version of 'The Amazing Spiderman' does what it should, I wish samspider3 did more work in order to make the villain more interesting but he still unfortunately falls extremely flat and you don't really care for him (not to mention that the CGI for his lizard form isn't done very well). Don't expect many changes to the movie, if you already like the movie, you should enjoy this even more, if you are not a big fan of the original film, you won't care that much.

I thought the theatrical cut was so-so. This edit is better, and fixes a lot of the problems I had with the original (finally closure with Curt's boss!). I will watch this again; I can't say the same for the original.

I liked the edit. although I wish there were some scenes you had deleted and not include the pointless doorman scene. also some of the deleted scenes were quite pixalated. but this edit is way better then the original!

an enjoyable take on the new spider man film, not all the deleted scenes work for me while i liked the inclusion of Peter following Conners and seeing him go into the sewer i feel the scene which was in the film were Peter see's the lizards on the sub-way should have been cut. the deleted scene was an alternative scene so having Peter see Conners and then seeing the lizards and realizing were Conners was hiding seemed a little off to me.

the doorman scene i felt shouldn't have been included as it just slows down the momentum. but the scene between Peter and Conners after his Unckle died along with the death of Rajit Ratha really should have been included in the original cut.

i would have liked to have seen a little more cut to the film (the crane scene for instance) as the movie is a little over long and tends to drag here and there. and i agree with another review as i feel the killer to unckle Ben should have stayed as it original played out. but overall the edit is of good quality and if you enjoy the new spider man films you should check this edit out

With this edit, samspider3 has done a big favour to those who enjoyed TAS by reintegrating some deleted scenes that are key to the development of Peter and Dr Connors' respective characters, and by removing some of the cheesy dialogue. While the video quality of the deleted scenes is noticeably inferior to that of the rest of the movie, their addition still makes this edit narratively superior to the theatrical edit.

I found this edit to also be aesthetically superior to the theatrical edit because of the colour correction that resulted in a brighter image. The blue on Spider-Man's costume popped in an especially pleasant way.
Also, it was excellent to have the full POV sequence back in the movie. That trailer is one of the main reasons I got really excited to see this movie.

samspider3 heavily reduced the eye-rolling factor of this Spider-flick by removing some terrible dialogue and a couple of cheesy moments. I agree with all of the cuts made, except for the cuts that showed Peter was looking for his uncle's killer. I really liked that angle in the original, because it's the reaction I'd expect from a 16-year old boy in his position. Plus, it appropriately makes the dinner scene at the Stacy's a huge moment of self-actualization for Peter when Cpt Stacy (unknowingly) calls him out for naively going after small-time criminals that all fit the same profile. It was after this dinner, that Peter truly becomes Spider-Man (the way he said 'Spider-Man' to the man on the bridge was so great for signifying this) and started to actually care about protecting innocent civilians rather than just trying to punish those who were doing something wrong.

There are also still a few other things I'd have removed, like the basketball scene. I would have cut it at the point in the scene where Peter sees Flash bullying the girl and Peter decides to step in. Then the next scene goes directly to him talking to Uncle Ben about how he doesn't have to pay for the backboard, leaving the entire interaction with Flash up to the audience's imagination. I'd also have removed the scene at the end of the movie when Peter walks into class late and has an exchange with his teacher that makes Gwen smile. It was such a corny moment and completely downplayed the previous couple of scenes of Peter promising not to see Gwen anymore, and Gwen visiting Peter at his house after Cpt Stacy's funeral.
And, a small thing, from the scene of the first time Peter uses his webshooter to swing (when he does a handstand on the building and falls), I'd have removed the shot of him landing because it's silly to me that no one would see him land in a cafe in the middle of the day.

Overall, this is a good edit that's, in my opinion, better than the theatrical edit.

Thank you very much samspider3.
