I loved how you edited this to where none of the future was shown and none of the Terminator HUD was show and also none of the dates revealed the future and that kept the question of who are these guys…. I also liked the deleted scenes you chose to put in and I love how some of the music and sounds was enhanced….. there is one small thing I would advise editing in a Version 2 is when you make it to where when you have the Terminator HUD not shown and it was suppose to just show the Terminator in action and not the HUD to find a way to remove the sound of the HUD cuz it a small mistake but it also makes you wonder why that sound is there and no explanation but otherwise I liked the change of story telling

Ray takes an already very lean and mean thriller and makes it even tighter. Removing the future bits (and T-800 HUD) are seemingly small changes that give the film a completely different vibe (along with other changes throughout of course). Much more ground level, more enigmatic, possibly scarier. Not my preferred version but it makes for a fun alternate.

One thing is I'm not sure the small deleted bits add enough to justify such drastic drops in quality, but they do help switch things up even more. I almost wonder if the mindset here could be taken even further, showing things just from Sarah's perspective, but that would probably break the film and this makes for a nice compromise.

A fun, slightly different take on a classic.

While there are many Terminator fan edits out there, this one is one of the better ones that exist. Ray Danger has a long history of making excellent fan edits and this is no exception. I'm impressed by the fact he removed the T-800 heads up display. Although it's a cool feature to see, it's a bit dated and isn't missed in this edit. I'm also in favor of his decision to remove the flash-forward scenes in the future. The trimming of the many scenes throughout the movie were well chosen and really tighten up the flow as well as the action of the movie. Although I enjoyed the addition some of the deleted scenes, I'm disappointed at the fact the low quality draws me out of the movie. THis is in no way a slam against the fan editor as this is something completely beyond their control. Overall, I'm satisfied with this fan edit and think it's a worthy addition to anyone's fan edit collection. It won't be my go to for watching this movie, but it's a great alternative, especially with this fan editor's Terminator 2 fan edit made to compliment it. Well done.

I hadn't seen the Terminator in a while prior to this edit, and for that reason, I won't be doing a thorough analysis on how this one differs from the original. But I like the original and consider it a classic as well as a staple of the sci-fi genre.

With that said, most of the changes to this edit didn't really improve the film for me, but at the same time, they didn't worsen it either. This is pretty much the movie I liked, just told differently. Between the two (or at least, what I remember), I'd say this one is just as good as the original.

The technical side of this edit is also very good. Most of the cuts and changes were invisible, and nothing stood out too obviously except for one thing: a few of the deleted scenes looked slightly distorted, like they came from a letterboxed or 4:3 SD source. However, I'm more forgiving of this because I know how much of a pain in the neck it can be finding decent quality deleted scenes.

I also think the color grading looks too clean, but that might be a consequence of the source, and not the editor. I also had some hardships with the LPCM soundtrack and had to compress the audio down to AAC via my trusty Handbrake in order to watch the edit, so there's a chance that I saw this in lower quality than everyone else. Take my thoughts on the color grading however you wish.

Still, if you like The Terminator, I think you'll enjoy this version of it as well. Give it a watch if you're feeling up for it.

Keeping the story in the present worked very well. It really changed the tone and was a very enjoyable watch. The deleted scenes were hit-and-miss though. Very well done, thank you!
