Having read many of Stephen Kings book, yes I read It. There is always so much going on, so many sub plots. That to me when a movie or tv show is made "they" try and pick a stroy line that makes sense as a stand alone story. With the slight "trims" etc for me made a much tighter and more fun and sensible story. lookign forward to other titles from you. Thanks for your hard work.

In spite of its flaws, I actually still really enjoy the miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's It, despite being outdone by Andy Muschietti's far superior film adaptation of the childhood-centric part of King's novel. This attempt at editing a film out of a television miniseries sounded interesting to me, naturally, and after having seen it, I was in no way disappointed. The attempts at giving this a much modern feel, with Benjamin Wallficsh's soundtrack for the 2017 version playing in several scenes, work incredibly well and the editing is fantastic throughout. The visual quality displayed here is nothing short of astonishingly good. Great stuff.

Yes, man. This is what a fanedit should be. This was engrossing from beginning to end, and edited beautifully. I don't know how much you moved around to create the flashbacks (if anything), but it worked perfectly. The video looks better than some "HD" fanedits which is crazy since it was made for 90s TV.

Honestly, the movie played like the best episode ever of Are You Afraid of the Dark. And it was fucking great.

An excellent first edit that does a terrific job of modernising a good but rather dated TV Stephen King adaptation. It's not really possible to fix some of the wooden acting and sub-par special effects but pretty much everything else gets a fresh makeover, score, aspect ratio, titles and sound fx are all brought right up to date. The rescore utilizing the score from the 2017 version is particularly impressive and really gives this old tv movie a more modern feel. The editor also did a great job of tweaking Pennywise's kills to give him a modern agile sense of menace.

Narratively I didn't feel any sense of anything being missed from the half hour or so that was cut from the tv version, I'm not sure how much footage has been moved around to forge this narrative as it's quite a while since I've watched the TV version but if there was a considerable amount it certainly didn't disrupt or disjoint the narrative flow of this new modernised take on things. As I've already said an excellent edit that bodes very well for the editors forthcoming 'Stand' adaptation too.

Oh and whoever thought to call it 'The Cinematic Cut' is a genius! lol

THEY FLOAT, GEORGIE. THEY ALL FLOAT!

This edit of the 1990 IT TV mini-series was SO good to watch. All of the power of the original series is preserved or improved upon and a vastly reduced number of jarring distractions are removed. The original TV series has a lot of great value, scare factor and great narrative for Stephen King's story but suffered from some clunky acting and special effects. I remember watching the original 1990 TV series version and finding the switch to 1985 really jarring, and noticeably more on a re-watch a few years back.
This edit fixes so much of that and the weaving between 1960 and 1985 works really well. as does the new framing, and the location title cards are a nice idea and I find this version makes it very clear which adult is portraying which child. The re-ordering of the scenes is amazing as is the edit and special effects that have been added. Even though nearly half an hour has been removed I didn't seem to notice any removals that detracted from the story and all of the best lines (I still laugh at Eddie's mom "you don't need friends, you just need your ma" ) and all the best scenes I remember were still in there too. I liked the soundtrack as well. The fear factor presented by Pennywise to the viewer is really amplified whilst maintaining his clown "charm" . His introduction is great too. Some occasional choices made in the original production can't be changed but this was such an enjoyable watch. I knew there was a great movie in there.
Conrad has made other changes here which are so seamless that the best compliment I can give is that I didn't have any overlong boring scenes or bad film-making which took me out the narrative like in the original edit. A thrill seeing this tightened and heightened edit. Very well done indeed.

I hope Tim Curry gets to see this version of IT, such a good actor. He really shines though. Loved the Pennywise nod with the balloon in the end credits! BEEP BEEP, RICHIE!
