Immensely enjoyable. The grindhouse veneer is consistent and really adds to the viewing experience. The sound track again adds to the enjoyment. Very much appreciated the additional scenes, along with additions to the history and lore. Thank you.

A new twist on this sci-fi classic! Noisy film grain, Vivid colors and funky soundtrack turns the 1979 classic Alien into a low budget, horrorploitation underground slasher of a feature!! Thank you for all the hard work that went into making this edit!

Spoiler Review:

This was my first grindhoused film, not grindhouse, but a film made into a grindhouse film. I know the Alien film quite well. Have seen it numerous times and consider it one of my all time favorite films. This edit is another beast entirely.

The edit starts with a couple grindhouse-style trailers. They were hilarious and those alone could be considered a great fanedit worthy of awards. They also set the mood and tone for the rest of the edit, and so are a wonderfully thought out editing technique by Gieferg.

The film grain, color grading, and projector faults on the screen are spot on. And the music just builds on that grungy aesthetic and atmosphere that feels authentic, mostly. More on that later.

The narrative takes a wild turn. SPOILER: What's a grindhouse film without a rape scene? I laughed out loud at the absurdity several times but I know that is intended. Alien is turned into a cheesy drive-in b movie. I should have watched this edit with several buddies. It's perfect for playing in the background at a party.

What an edit. An acid trip in space. The post credits scene solidly the hilarity that is this edit. Don't miss it.

Bravo!

Issues I had:
I think the Lenny Kravitz song fits, after much consideration though it did release in 1998. The lyrics are perfect and the funky style it has is already felt in the rest of the edit's music, but a cover or instrumental (timeless) version could possibly fit better I bet.

The Michael Jackson track on the other hand was off putting to me and doesn't fit.

I have to admit that I have some mixed feelings with the 1st Alien, the main cause is the inconsistent pacing, I feel like the first 30-40 minutes of this movie move in a glacial speed, so you might be wondering "why are you saying all this stuff?" and I answer you, because this edit fix it in a masterful way, I can't praise this edit enough.

I absolutely loved the color grade of this edit, it's so beautiful and refreshing, it also blends really well with the grindhouse effect, which is another thing to be praised, I loved the neat details that it have, like, in a couple of instances the image loses a bit of the focus for a second, I know it doesn't sound too out of this world, but I think it adds so much to the experience.

The soundtrack as another amazing thing, every track feels like it was made for this edit, especially in 2 scenes that I won't give spoilers, speaking of spoilers, that ending was so good, I wasn't expecting it at all, I would recommended waiting until the very ending to not miss a certain thing ;)

Almost forgot to mention the fake trailers, they are so damn good, I laughed way too hard with the "three f*cking bears" line.

I highly recommend this edit, it's on my top 5 favorite fan edits, it's just perfect, if you never watched a grindhouse edit, I would recommend starting by this one.
