This is a shining example of why I love this community. I cannot say much that hasn't been covered before. You have saved this film and I have recommended it to so many that did not care for the original. Thank you for your work.

Watched this last weekend, and it was pretty amazing. There was a scene in the exploration of the caves that felt off (my memory is hazy as to how the original sequence went, but it seems like something was cut), and I'm not completely sold on the dream sequence, but all in all it worked really well, and opening with the TED talk was really cool. A big improvement in some areas, slight improvement in other areas, and some slightly wonky additions - but all in all a great edit, and it deserves all the praise. Well done!

This was the first fanedit I watched for a year or so and I chose this one, because of the good reviews and because the original was quite a disappointment for me, but had so much potential and atmosphere. I for one had no idea how this one could be salvaged and that's where fanedits come in and are always a surprise how by reordering and deleting scenes a true improvement can be achieved.
For a firstling this was simply outstanding. Video and audio were just fine, no hard cuts or bad audio transitions. The title card was not impressive and my 4GB mp4 was a bit milky, but technically these are the only complaints. Editing-wise this was marvellously done.
I was much more entertained by this version and I can only say thank you for cutting out so much bad stuff, especially the Charlize Theron scenes, resulting in the war of the bitches, which you gladly cut. This was a much better, improved version of Prometheus, still not a great movie, but an almost incredible improvement.
One scene I did not like was the life creation scene in Shaw's flashback. It did not feel right there for me.
Overall, thank you, thank you, thank you, Severian, for taking so much time and turning this movie into a truly watchable one. Well done. Fanedits rock.

To get things started I'd like to say, Severian has done a really good job improving Prometheus with his first fanedit.

It is impressive how he achieved a more cohesive narrative for one of the most high profile and yet frustrating SciFi movies in recent memory, by shuffling just a few scenes and incorporating extended bits and pieces throughout this is turned into a truly memorable entry in the Alien mythos. By removing plain stupid behavior on the characters and adding key pieces of dialogue and information this does feel like the experience I wanted all along.
My favorite change is a truly satisfying interaction between Weyland and the surviving Engineer (my biggest gripe with the theatrical release).

The Video HD editing mastery displayed is commendable, there isn't a single noticeable editing error from what I could tell, and the quality of the encoding is likewise spot on.
I eagerly look forward to a burnable release.

Audio is likewise handled with great care and skill, all the integrated scenes and bits of dialogue are perfectly woven, I couldn't notice any jarring transitions while watching using my Onkyo amplifier.

Having said that, sadly I have to deduct points from A/V quality due to the currently available release only offering a 2.0 track, I am aware that 7/10 might seem somewhat harsh but it might motivate a future release supporting at least 5.1 DD for a perfect score.

Narrative and Enjoyment - as stated before the experience is greatly enriched, the original was a 7/10 when now I can easily give it a 9/10; there are still some details that make little to no sense but they are far fewer this time around.

Congratulations indeed.

Overview - One of the first released edits trying to “fix” narrative errors.

Video - 854 X 356 AVC. Higher resolution would have been preferred. Good editing nonetheless, shifting some scenes around. Dr. Shaw’s dream time after Holloway’s death is remarkable.

Audio - 128 kbps, AAC, 2 Channel stereo. No subs. Stereo, really? Dialogue is mostly clear, though garbled during excited moments. I listened through headphones.

Narrative - This new narrative works well enough, though I can’t see how it replaces the original. It holds together, and remains logical throughout, but the improvements seemed insufficient. Straight off, Holloway continues to be a dick, for reasons poorly explained. Fifield and Millburn persist in being stupid. As characterized, this pair would do better at a space station diner, asking, “Want fries with that?” Finally, the croissant abides.

Enjoyment - Hit and miss. Despite being a “favorite”, this does not surpass the A9 version that came out at nearly the same time. I enjoyed Severian’s effort, yet it is not the edit I will return to.

Subtitles: Yes, one of my bears. There actually are some subs available by Aorion. There are random timing problems, and they do not work for all dialogue. I repaired some issues, let others slide. Sorry.
