This is a great type of show to edit. There's a great premise, a lot of good plot and action - but even more garbage. I still watch Walking Dead when new seasons come out, but I'm always disappointed. This edit did a great job of providing the good stuff at a reasonable pace and cut out most of the bad. True Blood is another show that could benefit from this type of edit, where parts of it are really good, but its just impossible to suffer through all the bad to get to it.

There were a few things plotwise that didn't make sense because of scenes that were cut. Glenn getting called walker-bait didn't really make sense in this version where he doesn't get lowered into the well. There were a few other things like that I noticed while watching, but forget now. They did not significantly lower my enjoyment.

At 3 hours, this edit is very long, but there aren't really any slow spots so it doesn't feel overlong.

I didn't see or hear any audio/video issues.

Absolutely loved this one. Will consider replacing any future Season 2 viewings with the relevant footage from Night of the Walking Dead. Having almost abandoned the show completely after the dreadfully slow pace buliding up to the "climax" which was the most predictable reveal of any suspensful plot that I can recall I can honestly say that the movie improves upon Season 2 in every way possible. The point in this film I thought was cut too short was when Rick was under the tank and had the gun to his head. He seems to change his mind too fast and abruptly climbs into the tank. I can't remember if he pulled the trigger and the round had already been fired or if he just changed his mind. This was the only "major" concern I have with this film. Although I loved Season 1 and feel it's worth viewing all six episodes in their entirity the rapid pace was something special and was a great experience. I am looking forward to repeated viewings of this film and will be recommending it to many. Well done and thank you for such an entertaining edit. Who knew the second season could be this exciting? Bravo.

"Night of the Walking Dead" is a great experience and I assume it's going to win Favorite Edit of the Month Award.

You managed to tell a decent and strong story with characters that we all care about. But told from different perspective. Till today I'm impressed how you managed to create the best possible plot staying true with "TWD" essence.

Still, I think next time you shouldn't start the movie within the first 10 sec. Try at least to add some credits like "Fanedit.Org & Ranger present" or something. And to make a proper credits opening. Yeah, I know I'm nitpicking but it's good to have a climatic build-up :).

Hmm, and it's strange to see randomly put end credits with Jimmy and Patricia actors names only. Next time create your own so that you can put the whole song ;).

I'm looking forward to see "Dawn..." And again, feel all these emotions.

In short, f-n kick ass job! We thoroughly enjoyed it :)

It's been a while since I've seen the original 2 seasons on TV, so some of the more creative cuts and reworking went over my head. Which is a good thing, as that means the editing was done very well. My wife who is an avid fan noticed the reworks much more and thought they were done very well. We both felt the start of the love triangle sequences was a bit tangled and didn't transition as smooth as the rest of the edit. I imagine editing season 2 was much more difficult since they focused so much more on the drama and not action. Perhaps chopping a bit more out of it, especially season 2, would make it 10s across the board.

Thank you, great job, and looking forward to your next one!

I love The Walking Dead and I've seen the first two seasons more than any of the others and just about know them inside out. I have to say, ranger613 has done an excellent job of distilling the core of nearly 900 minutes of TV show into a managable 3 hour chunk of fast paced, suspenseful, zombie slaying entertainment. A lot of character development, sub plots and characters have obviously been sacrificed from the hours of TV show footage in order to tell a very streamlined concise story, but to be honest, as much as I noticed it was gone I didn't actually miss it in the context of the new tale the editor was telling. I liked how much darker Shane's character was in this version and how it kept moving forward at a really brisk pace yet without skipping over story or feeling like it's 3 hours long, it felt well balanced between the character moments and the walker mayhem. I wouldn't take this as a replacement for the original TV show but it makes for an excellent introduction for anyone that's been living under a rock for the last 4 years and hasn't seen TWD, or for the times when I need a flashback to the early days and want a complete story in under 3 hours. This is a very successful project, it works as a standalone film for the uninitiated or a quick fix for a TWD junky like me. I hope ranger613 tackles more seasons as he's proved he can really deliver the goods. I know I'll watch this edit a lot more times in the future and it passed the girlfriend test aswell, she's an even bigger TWD fan than me and she specifically made time to watch it and liked the results very much. Great work.

Hi ghouldetail, thank you for taking the time out to watch and review my edit of the Walking Dead. There is nothing more satisfying than to hear that such a difficult project get good reviews from a true fan of the show. It means a lot to me and I am happy you and your girlfriend enjoyed it. I'm glad you got the feel that this edit could be both an intro for newcomers as well as a worthwhile "revisit" for fans-- I try to do this with all my TV-to-movie edits. To answer your question, yes! I'm waiting for Season 4 to come out so I can do the next film .. "DAWN of the Walking Dead"-- it will cover the entire prison arc. Once again, thank you very much for your time! :)
