Crystal Skull is undeniably the weakest from the Indy movies, but DonkeyKonga's edit makes this movie way more enjoyable, the pacing and editing are great, lots of awful scenes/moments were either removed or shortened to a better experience, now the plot moves way quicker and doesn't have the padding the the original movie has, i can't recommend this edit enough!

I really enjoyed this edit! It had been many years since I last saw this film, as I found the original to be very disappointing. This edit has renewed my enjoyment in this film; it now feels like a 'proper' Indy film! The cuts were seamless, and the audio was really good overall.
I highly recommend this edit for anyone who was disappointed in the original, and wants to see how this film should have been released in the first place!

I really should have rewatched the original cut of this first, because I just watched the edit thinking "I thought I hated this movie? This is really pretty good. Maye I just haven't gotten to the parts I hate yet." But then they never really came, happily. Your opening song is perfect, even though I am a huge Elvis fan, your more rockabilly song established the same time period and is a cooler song. The biggest edit I actually noticed was an edit I imagined making last time I saw the uncut movie--no utterly pointless escape attempt, no quicksand scene or snake vine and of course, Indy no longer has an idiot son named Mutt. Excellent choices! The movie moves along at a great pace, it never drags and I never stop caring until the very end when it finally becomes clear at the end "The skull goes to a crystal body that is still alive and there's 12 others and they are aliens and they are going to fly away... " and there is just no edit that stays within the source material that can fix that. But you fixed everything else! I agree with you that it is almost as good as Temple of Doom now--it is only the lifeboat jump from the airplane and the mineshaft rollercoaster ride that puts Temple of Doom ahead for just being fun. But you really have taken this one right up there, much MUCH closer to the original 3!

Lets not forget the screaming woman in Temple of Doom, too.

Yeah the ending is what it is. But at least I didn't how the aliens actually resurrecting lol. I tried to imply that they take her body over as she becomes part of the new hyve mind. Hence they can now fly away with their newly acquired body.

I've always had a love hate relationship with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It has lots of great moments but suffers from tonal issues. Indiana Jones has always featured fun and even over the top action adventure, but with the Crystal Skull, Indiana Jones ventures into moments that are just outright silly, even for the Temple of Doom.

First off, watching this edit made the film more tonally consistent throughout, making it feel more inline with the original trilogy. I'm also happy to say the most "cringe" parts have been removed and what's left is a story that moves at a quicker pace and is more enjoyable from start to finish.

This edit is very well done and I honestly had a hard time remembering where some of the most "cringe" moments were. This film really does feature some excellent action that is so well choreographed. Even when things have been removed, such as the monkeys, the action sequences never lose their continuity and what's left is exhilarating Indy action.

Overall this is a fantastic edit and will definitely be my preferred way to watch going forward. Yes, this edit even makes you consider the possibility of repeat viewing. Well done!

Try sound track nr 3. It has the original Hound Dog as an opener! If your version doesnt include the soundtrack let me know, because I have a link for you with a version that does! So happy you enjoyed the movie. Thanks for you lovely words.

Previously the only Indy 4 edit I watched was a rather radical edit called Riddles of the Lost Gods which I very much enjoyed even with some minor changes I would have made to the opening...but much like that edit, this edit also proves that Indy 4 has a great film hiding behind all of the silliness and trimming the fat really shows it. In the case of this edit: Its a far more traditional Indy movie than the RotLG edit, and that's also a good thing. I watched the 3rd revision (I believe) of this edit and aside from a couple of artistic choices that I debated with the editor about (lol, I still believe in no nuke dang it), its almost flawless. I think if a V4 gets put out for this, it will (nuke included) be probably the most perfect cut you're going to see of this film.
Some of the choices made put a real burden on the editor, but it still worked out really well. Its different than RotLG and cuts things and keeps things that the RotLG kept/cut, but the main thing here is BALANCE between the silly and the serious and honestly both cuts proved that the theatrical cut just had way too many indulgences, and cutting a handful of the most egregious ones out makes immediately for a better film. So, keep the nuke cloud my friend, because everything else was so streamlined that it doesn't matter if its there or not.
Bottom line: Excellent cut. You absolutely should watch this.

UPDATE: Changed my scores to 10's across the board now. Just watched the latest edit with a fix to a scene I recommended and this thing is flawless now (well, if you can forgive the nuke that is, lol - its fine.).
