When I saw the theatrical version of Green Lantern I was disappointed. It was nowhere near the quality of Spiderman, Batman Begins or the whole lot of Marvel-comic-movies (only Hulk 2 is on a similar awful level).
So I was curious what a good fanedit could achieve. This edit is marvellous from a technical perspective, audio-transitions, visual transitions, great use of new music to make the audio-cuts seamless... everything is perfect, like it came out that way by the studio and in good HD-quality. Awesome work! I really wish I could edit that well technically, but I'm not yet on that level.
-SPOILER-Alert-
Narratively the goal was to make the movie more cool, more herolike, the hero is more admirable, doesn't falter, doesn't doubt too much, the villain (Hector) is more focused, not so irritatingly erratic and creepy... and the plot is built up more logically by getting rid of some detracting subplots.

That was the goal, and the goal was 100% achieved. Great editing to achieve that.

But, and it pains me to say that, by getting rid of all that awful stuff from the original (it's really awfully presented and told in the original), the heart and soul of the story is severely drained. So drained I asked myself what the point of the story is, when it misses all that struggle of the main-hero to embrace his destiny and the backstory with Hector and the interweaving of Hal's struggle with the overcoming of fear that mirrors with the overall struggle against that rogue guardian.

So by getting rid of all that awfully told main-story from the original, the edit is much more logical and much better presented, but becomes empty narratively.

--SPOILER-Alert-END---

I still highly recommend the edit, because a) it's so marvellously edited technically (I envy your skills, SkyFlix) and b) because it achieved perfectly what it set out to do, even though it imho destroyed the heart and point of the story.

SKYflix was able to turn an extremely underwhelming movie into something enjoyable. To me, it doesn't quite feel like a complete movie because so much was cut that the character's arcs seemed very quick, but the things that were cut definitely needed to be cut to make it a good movie.

Considering how much was cut, the narrative didn't suffer too much. Unfortunately, Hector's descent seemed a bit sudden, but the way Hal Jordan embraced the responsibility of being a Green Lantern was much better in this edit compared to the theatrical edit.

Editing wise, I thought this version was flawless. I couldn't tell where things were being cut or changed and the story flowed much better.

Narrative wise, while I still think this version is a flawed film and Green Lantern can be done better, I think this is a live-action version of Green Lantern that true fans can actually appreciate and get some enjoyment out of. A remarkable feat, considering how terrible the theatrical version was.

Thank you SKYflix for investing the time and effort to fix, as best as possible, a big mistake made by DC.

Thank goodness someone did this!!

Attention DC Executives - Someone hire SKYflix before you wreck your Justice League movie the way you wrecked Green Lantern.

When GL first came out I was incredibly disappointed. Really bummed out.

This edit goes a long way towards fixing what was broken. SKYflix even manages to make Ryan Reynolds almost likeable. I was amazed, astounded even.

Stop what you're doing and download this edit. You will not regret it.

i never really hated this movie i just thought it was disappointing (i love Ryan Reynolds)
but this edit fixes all of the problems this movie had. its an awesome job all round (editing audio and video).
this edit make it all feel more structured where the original was a mess.
i still cant see were the budget went (200 million) it looks like they spent 60 million on it.

i really love this edit and think anyone who likes superhero movies should give this a go.

Video editing: 10/10
Audio editing: 10/10
Entertainment: 7/10 Original: 4/10

this is a huge improvement highly recommended

You have polished this bloated, poor film into a gem. The audio/video are excellent and you have done wonders with the narrative. I actually WANT to see GL again!
