Great edit. Excellent use of deleted scenes and alternate takes to give some scenes a bit more breathing room. My favorite in particular is Leon's entrance on to the street where Roy is with the large neon sign backlighting him. Great stuff. Good sense of pace to the edit, really brings Deckard's noir mystery story in focus.

Only nitpick would be a lack of any atmos/foley over the first part of the rescored scene where Rachel plays piano and takes her hair out. Adding that "Deckard apartment ambience" back in would add a lot to it I think. Great work, otherwise.

Excellent edit, excellent. By removing every reference to the killing committed by the escaped replicants, you made them more sympathetic. I also liked the fact that Deckard in this version is forced to go back to work, because obviously Bryant has something against him (maybe Deckard actually retired a human by mistake, and Bryant knows about it ?).
No unicorn dream made the exact nature of Deckard more ambiguous, I prefer it this way, I never really liked the idea that Deckard is a replicant, I prefer to see him as Blade Runner who slowly becomes aware that replicants are actually more human than human.
The deleted scenes are cool, I feel even more sorry of Holden, now that we see him in coma.
Also thanks for sparing Sebastian, his death was unnecessary, the poor guy is already living hell, no need for Roy to brutally kill him.
My only complaint is about the unicorn origami in the end. Now that Deckard is no longer having that dream, it seems a little out of place. But maybe it can be viewed as a random origami left by Gaff meaning that he knows about Rachel, and he is willing to let them escape.

As someone who's always admired Blade Runner, but had a hard time liking it, this edit is a gift. The rapey parts are gone, and there's added deleted scenes that return some of the humanity to Deckard. While there are splendidly cleaned-up technical edits (TM2YC deserves all the accolades he received for the breathtaking BR: Penultimate Cut), this is possibly the most enjoyable version of the film, with a Deckard that's a little easier to spend time with. The choice to leave the entire film grainy so the deletions don't stick out works as a wonderful aesthetic choice.

My only quibble would be the presence of the unicorn origami at the end. With the excision of the unicorn dream, it doesn't seem to serve much purpose. Also, as someone who'll stick up for the narration, I'd love to see GGD with a voiceover, just in case Keo decides to revisit this edit. But if not, no great loss, this is still an essential version of one of the most gorgeous films ever made.

Obviously we all love Blade Runner, (or we wouldn't get this far down the rabbit hole), so I, (like many others) have watched many different versions of this film. These include all the "official" versions and 2 or 3 FanEdits.
This Good Guy Deckard edit was chanced upon, as I was watching one of Wakeupkeos' other edits (Tin Cup), but I can honestly say I enjoyed this version like a new film. The narrative gives you a whole new appreciation of what Ridley was trying to say about humanity, (I certainly didn't miss that fucking stupid unicorn) and highlights the acting chops of Ford and Hauer. I really loved the music arrangements, but couldn't pinpoint where Wakeupkeo made the changes, it just worked. I also liked the atmosphere and lighting, it seemed to add to the overall appreciation of some of the scenes.

Thank you Wakeupkeo for an excellent edit of my favorite film.

I've seen all of the official releases of "Blade Runner" and have approached the multiple fan edits with equal amounts of dread and curiosity (how does one mess with a classic?) and I think I've watched them all, including the b/w noir version.

THIS RENDERING is by far above and beyond all the rest; it is like watching the film for the first time.

Is it the sound (emphasis and music significantly rearranged)? The changeups in plot points (now a fuller/deeper immersion)? Those were the questions I was asking myself while watching this in complete awe. Clearly, it's not any one particular thing that elevates this fanedit to what now should be considered the "Blade Runner gold-standard experience" other than recognizing the holistic insight and artistic skill of this one faneditor himself.

YES, watch it and become immersed unlike any version before it -- headphones highly recommended -- and I sincerely hope that those who were involved in the creation of the original(s) will find their way to this version and be likewise amazed.
