While some believe Attack of the Clones to be even worse than Phantom Menace for me it was a slight improvement. that being said it was still a bad film but that's were faneditors come to the rescue. Part 2 of Q2 stars wars edit removes a lot of what was bad from the film giving us a more enjoyable experience overall. i really liked have artoo and C3-PO were cut from the final act of the film, however i do feel it's a shame that so much of them has been cut in this trilogy as for me the prequels showcased their journey throughout all these events.

i felt the first edit was to short and overall felt a little choppy, this edit with it's 90min runtime (not including credits) feels a lot better and doesn't feel like it's in a rush to get to the end. it's a shame so much has to be removed in order to deliver a more watch-able star wars film.

i do wish anakins confession to padame regarding the slaughter of the sand people could be removed as i find it a little out of character for her to marry a mass murder. the end fight didn't work for me either, having dooku seemingly run away because padame and a few clone troopers arrive makes him look weak plus he has the two jedi were he wants them.

as with the first episode Q2 take on the trilogy is a more pleasing experience and one that i will re-watch when the time comes

Prequel edits are strange... they always draw me back, make me wish for a better execution... and then I am usually disappointed.
A part of the reason why i don't enjoy most edits is the fact that they seem to rush through the prequels in a sort of necessary evil-way. I tend to not enjoy prequel edits because they feel less like movie and more like bullet points that the edit goes through as fast as possible.

Fall of the Jedi II is one of the few episode II fanedits i managed to finish.

The opening had me a bit on edge because the sudden explosion was a bit too abrupt but afterwards everything worked out very well. Mostly because Q2 is not simply removing stuff but replacing and rearranging.

I never had a problem with the mystery aspect of the clone troopers although i understand the criticism of the yoda and the younglings and the dexter scene. In this version the work obi wan does is in the background and whenever we meet him we are catching up with him. this makes his investigation much more interesting than going from a to b with the audience exactly knowing what he will do next.
because we don't see most of the research obi wan at least comes across as smarter than in the original. replacing the queen of naboo with the family meeting is also much better and adds more emotion to the story - or add leasts gives the illusion of emotion.

The way Amidala and Anakin get arrested is also much much better and in a way a stroke of genius to underline the threat of this separatist movement. it gives character to padme the idealist.

C3PO and artoo are well removed from the battle and yoda isn't missed. The cut to the senate is a bit abrupt but it was a decision by Q2 to not show sidious so there isn't really much that can happen between those scenes.

Overall i really enjoyed this edit. It is a much improved version that despite running only 90 minutes doesn't feel rushed like many other edits

Like Fall of the Jedi I, this is much better than the original.

I liked the intro with ship landing and just blowing up. However the problem it causes is that, as we don't know who is on it, we are uninvested in the craft exploding. A (dialogue-less?) shot of Amidala on the ship before this would have helped.

Great to continue the reduced JarJar and 3PO. Much improved (i.e. removed) dialogue. And liked the addition of the short dart-testing scene. Good work removing the droid factory fight scene.
The love story reduced to a single look/kiss as the couple are about to die, is excellent.

So all good, great to watch... I guess the issue is the Yoda/Dooku fight. This scene cut does give you something wonderful, which is Dooku suddenly gets character complexity (in a prequel trilogy movie!!). He has the option to kill his defeated enemies, but instead is conflicted, and shows mercy. It's an excellent contrast to Anakin in the next movie, when in the reverse situation he executes Dooku. Brilliant.
But the price we have to pay for that upside is the loss of a really wonderful moment for fans who have at this point watched 4.9 movies (given the order we all saw them in) of Yoda being wise and peaceful, and telling other people what to do. And then he walks into a situation where two Jedi have been defeated and violence is required, and he delivers.

I get that people see it as ridiculous that Yoda is "flying around" in this scene. But, well... he's short! That's how a skilled fighter that small would have to fight a large opponent!

But hey. Overall another great piece of work by Q2. Watch it!

Ok, before people get mad at me for not recommending this edit, I want you all to know that I hate attack of the clones with a passion, to me it is the worst disgrace to star wars out there in canon, that is saying a lot because I like you also hate Jar Jar, the fact that this movie is shit is not the editor's fault, it's George's. The editor does not have the ability to improve cringe-worthy special effects without cutting a whole scene, the editor does not have the ability to add dialogue or heavily modify it. The editor has to work with what he's got and this is it.

Now that that's out of the way I must say the visual and audio editing is flawless, I never saw or heard of anything that was bad and I never was taken out of the "experience" by editing flaws, long story short, flawless.

The narrative is as good as it's going to get with AOTC, the mystery behind the clones is actually intriguing and infinitely better than the original. Most of the cuts were completely logical and worked, this series does bug me partially though because of the removal of R2 and 3PO which sort of makes sense BUT that's what is special about this trilogy, if you hate that idea then just don't watch it. The only thing that should have been cut as well was the arena scene. I know it would be hard to pull off but just don't have the monsters fully attacking yet when the clones and Jedi show up and then shorten the whole thing down. Anyway, you did fine based on the source material (I also liked the incorporated deleted scenes)

So overall, it's an improvement BUT in my opinion, episode 2 is a lost cause anyway.
