Brief Synopsis:
I wanted to make a different version of this quite boring remake that Gus Van Sant gave us.
Cut out a lot of scenes to speed things up and rescore it with a 80's vibe.
Intention:
Alfred Hitchcock's original is a classic and a prefect film and I think Gus Van Sant made the wrong choice to make a shot to shot remake.
This edit tries to add a different vibe from the 80's with a reduced running time.
Other Sources:
Music added:
Driver's seat-Sniff'n'the tears
Every breath you take-The police
The lady in red-Chris DeBurgh
Diary of a madman-Ozzy Osbourne
Thief of hearts, stolen secrets, bad guys plot, rv from hell-Harold Faltermeyer
Remote Viewing-Tangerine Dream

And various free sound effects.
Special Thanks:
ArtisDead for providing great ideas and feedback especially in terms of music and sound.

PanteraSteel for early previews and great feedback during the whole process.

A Big Thanks for believing in my vision to make a different version.

I would not have watched this had a friend not recommended it.

I, like everyone else, did not like the movie. It was a ripoff of one of the best movies of its kind.

Enter Dawnrazor to save this mess. The new score and new songs all breathe new life into this and make it a worthwhile experience.

Ha ha! "Lady in Red" is incredible!

I hated this movie! A total ripoff of a classic. You totally saved the movie for me.

Like one other person said, "The Lady in Red" during the shower scene was *chef's kiss*

Awesome that you used a classic Ozzy song to close it out and for the trailer.

This is an excellent fanedit because it transforms a heap of rubbish into something memorable. Now I will be checking out your other edits.

I must admit that you surprised me with this edit, my friend.

I never thought that this movie should have been made. What was the point? It was almost literally a modernization of one of the greatest nightmare inducing thrillers of all time. I always thought it was a cashgrab. Poor choice of actors. I watched it once and said never again.

Then you decide to edit it. Seriously? I just had to see what you had up your sleeve. As much as I'm into music replacement and adds, I never considered that this movie could be enhanced by such. You have opened my eyes.

Some of your original choices surprised me but using "Lady in Red" by Chris DeBurgh in the shower scene is one of the genius music adds in fanediting. Damn! That is clever!

"Every Breath You Take"...well...that's very clever, as well. He's certainly stalking her, to say the least.

Using "Driver's Seat" to open things up sets the mood perfectly and damn! Ozzy and Randy to close it out? And the score replacement?

This is a perfect example of a fanedit literally saving a movie.

You made a believer out of me. I'm converted. I went from despising this movie to loving your edit. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing your art!

HHmmmm I am struggling to give a review on how I really feel about this edit. I saw this film in the theatre when it was released. And thought it sucked. A case of some really good actors in a bad version of a movie. And felt the same every time I have watched it since then. So I saw the offer of this edit and thought lets hope. I watched and still think the same. BUT that has absolutely nothing to do with the edit. Maybe tooo much previous bias on my part. To me this edit might of made a good episode of Hitchcock presents. The music added for me does change the scenes and how I feel about them. The editing flowed nicely but I did catch myself asking "what about...". But I don't do techie reviews I do enjoyment. I did enjoy this edit and watched as soon as it finished downloading. Again I have bias against the original film. But I watched this edit and don't in any way shape or form feel as if I wasted an hour of my life. Dawnrazor took , for me a snoozer of a film and made it watchable. And I gave it a 9 on enjoyment again because of my bias. But on my popcorn scale I will give it a 4 out of 5 because I am biased. I have enjoyed Dawnrazors edits and I am sure I will continue to do so.
