the original 2049 was not a perfect sequel by any means, with its unnecessary revolution sub plot and fanservice moments that added nothing to the story.
This version fixes that, making it a much more enjoyable experience along with the music from Vangelis that fits perfectly into this films world just as it did in the original. This is an amazing edit and I recommend it to any blade runner fans to give it a watch.

Wow, really well done.
Rescoring a movie can change so much, and this was a great example. While a couple songs early on felt too optimistic and "flute-y", which I account to the limited resources within the artistic score intended, overall this edit captures the great audio vibes that helped so much to made the first movie great. Atmosphere accounts for SOOO much. And the narrative editing choices were well done also, keeping a great focus on plot throughout.
A definite one to watch as a variation of the original, highly recommended!

Overall this is a superb fresh take on an already hard to improve film!

I too dreamed of hearing Vangelis cut of 2049 and at times it really took me a moment to step back and take a breath. PE selected the best tracks he could from Vangelis newer material to best compliment and even in places add tremendously to the scene as a whole. I would highly recommend this edit to anyone who has already seen the original it just gives you that extra little surprise to see what sample PE adds next. His actual cuts to the film also never detract from the over arcing story and simply make it better (the Wallace stuff always needed your edits).

Overall I would say the reason I marked Enjoyment down to an 9 is really down to two music choices that didn't gel with me and took me out of the mood of the scene but this is really only minor and was more down to my personal taste.

Please go ahead and do yourself a favor and watch this excellent edit of 2049.

Thanks again Problem Eliminator.

I really loved this take on Blade Runner: 2049 and found the execution flawless. Blade Runner and Vangelis go hand in hand so this was a fanedit that I hoped for, even before finding out one existed. Avoiding the original score was a smart move as the music is so familiar it might have seemed pastiche, which this edit isn't at all. Whilst I would have been happy for the Wallace scenes to be left in, I'm glad they were removed as Leto's performance is complete garbage and I can only think that he ended up where he did with that character because his scenes were brief and he wanted to leave an impression. If you were going to remove one thing, that would be it. Perfectly happy for the Rachel scene to go too, as it proved so controversial that seeing it breaks immersion every time.

Overall I would recommend this fan edit without hesitation. It sets out exactly what it achieves too and executes its vision pretty much perfectly. I won't say which version I prefer, because I think both this and the original compliment each other and I expect to alternate between them in the future, depending on my mood.

If you're interested in a Vangelis-scored Blade Runner: 2049 (and who wouldn't be) then you should definitely give this fanmix a go.
