What great sci-fi entertainment! The story flows nicely from episode to episode with no glaring jumps. The length is good as well, sometimes you just want a short movie.

Powers made Terry become Batman, then Terry made Powers become Blight, both great origins. Shame they only used Blight for a couple of episodes, I would have liked to see the neon-green skeleton lots more.

The Mr. Freeze vs Blight part was cool to watch, a battle between hot and cold.

This fan edit makes you want to watch the series again. 10/10

This edit was so fun! The pilot combined with the other episodes work fairlyy well in a movie format - the pivot from the origin story to the other story arcs midway through
is a bit jarring, but the editor drew from the best episodes to create a full movie. Definitely feels a bit episodic (especially the end). Overall, the story still feels cohesive because you see Terry becoming Batman and the key episodes of the Derek Powers / Blight villain arc. Also cute that this includes that one Batman Beyond meme lol.

The visual/audio quality are amazing and the transitions are seamless. Definitely would recommend if you want peak Batman Beyond content and don't want to commit to the full series (the series is great tho!). I liked watching it as a prequel to the movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Excellent edit, four episodes flawlessly sticked together to form a single movie, the transition and cuts between episodes are nearly perfect, except for when Terry finds out about the Batcave, which was abrupt. Tha audio is on point, and the narrative is very enjoyable to follow, for those who still remember the show.
Very pleasant edit, thanks for sharing.

I will say that seeing these four episodes strung together works very nicely and editing for the most part works. However, I did notice two things I feel could be improved/added. I feel the transition from Terry discovering the bat cave was very quick and jarring which I know had a commercial break back then at that point. So I don't know what else could be done there to make it transition easily. I do feel the use of a time card and transition shot after the Rebirth episodes, can help establish time and help transition it better to the next episodes. As for the other transition into the last episode, that I feel works fine. The ending I feel the original ending to Blights Last Episode should have been left since He isn't really dead, least to the comics and plus the ending feels a bit too quick.

Overall, still a nice idea to put these episodes all together to make a movie. Least while we wait for WB to make a live action version.

Thanks for the positive review.

"I feel the transition from Terry discovering the bat cave was very quick and jarring which I know had a commercial break back then at that point. So I don't know what else could be done there to make it transition easily."

Indeed. I thought about keeping the fade-to-black at this point, but it didn't work for me. I thought it was even more jarring that way.

"I do feel the use of a time card and transition shot after the Rebirth episodes, can help establish time and help transition it better to the next episodes."

I considered adding a time card, actually. Later, I decided the audience should themselves realize that there's a time skip there. However, I may add a "One month later" somewhere at that transition point.

"The ending I feel the original ending to Blights Last Episode should have been left since He isn't really dead, least to the comics and plus the ending feels a bit too quick."

I was adamant about the last scene of the edit being between Bruce and Terry and that scene fit the best. It's all fast in the cartoon, so not much to do here. I didn't care about the comics while making the edit. I want one to go watch the Return of the Joker movie after this one ;)

"Overall, still a nice idea to put these episodes all together to make a movie. Least while we wait for WB to make a live action version."

Sign me up to write the script. My version will be very Akira-esque.

Batman Beyond has succeeded where very few alternative futures have in comics. The only other one I can think of with as much cultural reverence is Spider-Man 2099, and there are a great deal of similarities with both properties. Batman Beyond however got into millions more homes via the medium of television, and for three seasons and one movie, very much entertained and inspired millions of young audiences into becoming creators as well as fans.

This edit takes us back to those days spent watching Kids WB and Cartoon Network, a unique and daring vision of a more advanced Bruce Wayne recruiting a teenager with a similar tragedy to his own, though not someone entirely disconnected from a family and social life. Terry shows what Bruce could have been if he had not let the mission become him.

The use of the four episodes here makes for a very straight forward edit, the thrust of the narrative needn't be altered too much, heroes rise, villains fall, it's a classic bit of Saturday morning storytelling, with the right amount of trims to make it all flow cohesively, it doesn't feel like you're watching a stitched together compilation tape.

It's been a while since there was an DCAU Batman edit listed on IFDB, it's nice to have one more recent and one that is of impeccable quality both visually and structurally.
