Tron: Perfection

Saw this at the theatre (remember them?) when it was released in IMAX no less. I was hopinh it would be as good as the first film. Well, I walked out and asked for a refund. Didn't get it. This edit I could actually sit and watch. I was even able to stomach the lunch I was eating. I do enjoy Wakeupkeos edits. They have helped so much for this "pandemic". I might be a little biased as "he" is a bit on the local side. This edit is a good afternoons watch. And as I have said in other reviews. I look at the pure enjoyment of the edit. I don't really bother with the techie stuff. I am looking forward to Wakes next project.

While I do not consider TRON LEGACY to be a Bad Movie, it was flawed and this edit does rectify many of the issues I had with the original.

The brilliance of this edit is the new opening, which changes the tone of the entire film. Instead of being a Spectacle Adventure with character bits scattered throughout, it now becomes a Character Mystery story highlighted by dazzling FXs. A very welcomed change.

I watched portions of both the HQ MP4 Stereo and 5.1 for comparison, both look very solid. Most of the cuts work very well, there were only a couple of times where the conversation cadence sounded slightly stilted due to some dialogue being omitted. The noticeable technical issue for me was the audio mix seemed to be on the soft/low side. As I often had to turn up the volume during many of the conversation scenes.

A good edit definitely worth the watch for Tron fans. :)

Brilliant edit. Much of the bloat was removed, leaving a much leaner, more focused cut. This is the true successor to TRON, with no time wasted on meaningless shoe-horned sub-plots. Just enough time is spent in the real world to establish Sam's character, then it's off to the digital...and let's face it, that's why you bothered to watch a TRON sequel. Very clever use of dialog from some of the cut scenes as voice-overs to fill in the backstory where needed. I would definitely recommend this edit to any fan of the TRON series!

There are only a handful of edits ive watched immediately after downloading them. TM2YC's Blade Runner Penultimate cut, Bobson's Revenge of the Sith Extended and Falling into Darkness, IronMan23's Star Trek Seeds of Wrath, Hal9000's Rise of Skywalker Ascendant, and now also Tron Perfection. I didnt really mind the official cut of the movie but I did feel the opening scene with young Sam and Encom was a bit unnecessary. However after watching this edit I can say with absolute certainty, that Wakeupkeo's edit is a far more superior cut of the movie. Cuttingthe opening down to just a few minutes is a great idea and works great. Trimming down some lines here and there and removing some of the cringe and tropes doesnt seem like much but it adds up; over half an hour of the movie was cut out and nothing of substance was lost. This movie certainly benefits from a tighter cut and this edit will be my go-to when watching Tron in the future
