Due my students undying love of the excellent Tron Uprising cartoon, I've been forced to sit through Tron Legacy more times than I would have ever wanted. Wakeupkeo's edit has made that process much easier, thankfully. The structural problems of the second act remain a serious problem, but the first and third act really move and work wonderfully.

Tron: Legacy was one of those movies that I was immensely hyped for. Disney updating an old obscure property with modern visuals and having the soundtrack done by none other than the iconic Daft Punk. I was so Damned hyped for this movie back in 2010. Alas, after seeing this movie opening night, I was utterly disappointed in the results. Everything from the hilariously awkward CGI Young Jeff Bridges; to the cheese line ridden, dull as a door knob lead actor; and the 3rd act that comes to a grinding halt. Tron: Legacy was a complete misfire of an opportunity. I only saw this once in theaters and then never again. However, that Daft Punk soundtrack is still fire and the only good thing from the film apart from the visuals. All these critiques are nothing new, just lamenting here haha

More than a decade later, Redlettermedia (a movie reviewing/discussion based Youtube Channel for those that may be unfamiliar) did a Re:View of both Trons and talked more in depth on these items. Watching that piqued my interest once again of this movie that soured me so long ago. Looking past it's many flaws, there is almost a gritty rough (very rough) gem in there. The director of this movie had a vision which can be appreciated and the soundtrack is still some of the best from Daft Punk. However, those massive flaws still hinder this movie from being a rough gem.

That is where Tron: Perfection comes in. It streamlines the movie to give it a better flow, eliminates most the dumb cheesy one liners from the wet blanket of a protagonist, and saves the young Jeff Bridges for Clu and only Clu. It does this in an excellent execution. The 3rd act is still somewhat of a bog, but that is more on the movie itself and not the editor.

This edit is a treat and I highly recommend it!

This fanedit cleans up the cringe one-liners and makes this into a solid film instead of a guilty pleasure. The only thing I didn't like was that the end credit score was replaced with other Daft Punk songs, which I found made the film cheesy at the last minute.

I can't believe how much I liked this edit. I was bored to death on the original movie, but this breathed new life into it. Editing is top notch! Cutting out most of the exposition, all the one liners, and speeding up the pacing has completely transformed this movie. I'm not sure I would change anything else on this movie except maybe cutting back on a bit more exposition while they are on the sailing transporter. Highly recommend this edit!

Watched the fanedit late last night, so I've had about 24 hours to let it soak in. In one word, outstanding. I have been a gamer since the beginning. Owned an Atari, Commodore 64, and most everything else everything since then. When Tron came out in 1982 I was 10. It was everything I could have hoped for. 28 years later Legacy comes out. A good movie, but not a great one. It definitely did not live up to the unrealistic memories of a 10 year old. When I saw this fanedit posted I was hoping it would fulfill the promise the sequel didn't make good on. It did that and then some.

The story was seamless. When watching it you don't feel like your watching an edit. The video and audio quality is top notch. There is a reason I gave it all 10's. It deserves all of them. Mind you, you have to enjoy the theme to truly appreciate what this editor did. Sci-fi is a fickle mistress.

If you like Tron and/or the sequel, or you like sci-fi in general, you should watch this edit. It is great, and guess what? Tron 3 is supposedly slated for 2025, so we all have that to look forward to.

Thank you, Wakeupkeo for making this. This really feels like a labor of love and I appreciate you sharing your vision of this movie with me.
