SO this was my 3rd time seeing the movie, but it had to be this edit.
I wondered "what is left after all the comedy stuff". in the end its enough to make a good watch.
We had fun seeing the movie, and most of it flows perfect and the cuts are well done (and most of them well deserved).
A little hasty in the Townfight and i would have loved to see more of Jane in Flshbacks but the idea that we all see MIghty Thor at the same time for the first time with Thor makes it extra special.
After all i have to say that this cut still leaves me thinking why there is so much overdrawn comedy in it.

It will be my last time seeing this movie but i am glad that it was this stripped edit.
Well done !

The original was forgettable and did not inspire a rewatch. This edit hooked me and kept everything from the plot, to the characters streamlined. With lite humor, not the over the top Marvel in your face humor. I highly enjoyed this edit.

I never thought that an actually good and enjoyable movie was hiding under that pile of bad-taste humor. Tremault did an amazing work extracting the essence of the plot and showcasing the main character's empathy (frankly who thought it was a good idea to make Thor sound like a psychopath by joking over Sif's getting mutilated and Jane battling cancer?). The surgical extraction of the cringe-worthy moments aside. I loved the VFX of Zeus' telepathic abilities to Thor, it was astonishing. I also adored the new bittersweet ending, Remember Me is such a dope song!

This is a HUGE improvement on the original film! I loved that Jane is only revealed to us when Thor sees her for the first time to make us also wonder what is even going on here? The town hall scene felt a bit too jumpy but taika didnt really give us many serious lines to allow the scene to flow properly without the silliness. I really liked how the scene with Valkyrie and Jane was reworked and swapped out for alternate footage after she smashes the sink. It felt far more fitting given what is happening to Jane and allows you to actually connect with her and her struggle. If you ever did a revised edition i'd love to see a mini montage of her being told the bad news and then her making the trip to asgard so its no longer something that happens 'off screen'. I think it would complete her character arc perfectly as then we can see how desperate she was to live but then chooses the opposite choice to save the children. I thought at first you'd moved that little sequence to where she tells thor on the boat and I think it would fit really well there. I was a little confused as we had 2 zeus scenes and I feel like maybe it had to be one or the other but it was still nice to see that extra unused scene as that could change the whole story if you wanted a version where we did get thunderbolt handed to us

Thanks for the good feedback, I appreciate the alternate perspective. I did feel like the boat scene was really intimate and it was important to keep the focus on just Thor and Jane for the most part.
Some other good ideas, and I'm really glad you mentioned you liked how we first meet Jane when Thor does. that's really encouraging :)

As other's have said, the original movie was such a let down, in some ways it seems post endgame the bigwigs at marvel haven't known what director to take the franchise in (that said I've enjoyed the tv shows.) After the success of Ragnarok, I think everyone expected Taika to capture lightning in a bottle a second time Sadly the jokes in that film that didn't work for me, were quadrupled for this film's theatrical release and thus I personally deem it the worst of the MCU entries.

Tremault has taken the arduous task of going through the film and trimming the fat, or more aptly excising the cancer. Don't get me wrong there is still humour and perhaps ever so slightly more than I thought there would be, but the very obnoxious and juvenile stuff is no longer present so the characters can at least breathe. What is left is the story that focuses on Gorr's meance, Jane's dilemma/choice and maybe even restores a little maturity to Thor, the only downside is that when you trim all the excess crap that padded out the runtime, the credits roll around the 1:18 mark, but that's the sacrifice one has to make if you want to enjoy the film.
I felt so excited hearing that Jaime Alexander was back after being absent from the last few Thor centric films, but then to see her original cameo being reduced to what it was, she suffered a worse fate than the warriors three. With reduced screentime her fate feels more ambiguous but she at least got to drop her relevant piece of exposition and keep her dignity intact.

In spite of it's flaw (the short runtime) this is the go-to version for now, unless on the off chance, Disney release some decent deleted scenes somwhere down the line.

Thank you for taking the time to salvage what you could from this film even if it leaves the final product a little underwhelming, I'll take underwhelming as a vast improvement over festering overlong unfunny turd pile
