After much hype, and after going through the trouble of owning M. Night Shyamalan's "trilogy," and finding three and a half hours to spare, I finally had the pleasure of watching what is unofficially becoming one of the best fanedits out there. I'm not sure if this edit lived up to the hype I had, but there's no denying how ambitious this edit was.

My issues are mostly minor technical ones. An occasional technical glitch in the audio might occur. A couple of visual transitions felt off. And there is one scene that occurs in the first hour or half hour that I think could've been left out, but I can't remember which scene it was (hey, it was 3 1/2 hours after all. I can't remember every scene after 160 minutes). I also kinda wished the explanation at the end for how Elijah got the footage sent out wasn't cut, but I'm also reluctant to make that criticism, as the editing for the final scene was so good that I think adding the explanation back in would affect that moment for the worse.

A lot of those nitpicks aside, I still loved this edit. And regardless of what my feelings for the edit were, I still have to place a lot of emphasis on the word, "ambition." Because I can't think of another fanedit out there with this much of it. Not only in its non-linear narrative, but in how the three movies are put together. The way the film goes back and forth between Unbreakable and Split for the first half, only to wind up with most of Glass for the second half. The way the edit sets up all three characters, only to bring them all together into the asylum. The way the setup for this edit fixes up most of the problems with the last film. Whether it's my favorite fanedit or not, I'm taking notes from it.

Split Unbreakable Glass is a highly motivated little edit that should be required viewing for anyone who wants to try their hands at being a faneditor. Highly recommended, especially for the more academic among us.

Again one is amazed by how the threads of a story can be unpicked and rewoven to make something spectacular, Have not yet seen Glass but was aware of the less enthusiastic response towards it compared to the earlier entries, in this edit at least I never felt at any point that these parts were weaker. Was gripped throughout and looking forward to watching Wraith's mirror image edit.

What an incredible feat combining all these films into something really cohesive and incredibly enjoyable. Individually, I felt the films were flat, especially Glass. This edit really freshens it up and I felt completely immersed in it, versus a slog and waiting for it to end. I felt the scenes chosen and edits made were excellent choices for the most part. A few parts really made my eyes roll and I wish they were cut like Elija's mother dropping comic book factoids near the end like "this is what is known as a showdown" etc. Let's face it, Glass is just a bad movie. Not terrible, but definitely not good. The editor really did do a great job of cutting a lot of it, but really they didn't have much to work with on the last film. I have to say this is fantastic work, I can't wait to watch the companion film. Thank you for the time and energy put into this. I wouldn't really want to watch the films any other way again.

Wraith did something absolutely remarkable with this edit. An instant classic fanedit.

First, the film is all about a dark and rising tension, then it descends into doubts and madness as the three main characters become trapped. This in-turn sets the stage for a jail-break with super-villainous intent. But Dunn has his gift and a poncho to dawn. And throughout all this, Casey comes to know that their gifts are not just fantasy, nor are her own, as the Horde and Mr. Glass go on a rampage.

The opening credits are amazing. This is S tier editing of video and audio. In terms of flow and pacing, they're perfect. This is a powerhouse of an edit. The tension is relentless. The time and effort put into this makes it a wonderful piece of art. There is not a scene that felt forced, unwarranted, or superfluous, because every scene has it's purpose throughout the edit and leads in-step with next. The ending of the edit is sad, story wise. Not a problem of Wraith's. I had just hoped for a more uplifting ending, but it fits with the dark undertone throughout the films.

I watched SUG 6.05PRF

I'd highly recommend this edit; it completely transformed my enjoyment of these films. It was obvious how much love and time Wraith put into the pacing and story structure. The flow overall was fantastic, and the finale felt far more earned this time around.

My scores on the visual elements came down to a couple nitpicks:
- There are a couple of subtle audio pops.
- The visuals are great; as a matter of personal taste, though, I think the title convention and fade to black transitions are a tad overdone. Once the titles become more like chapter titles, they work brilliantly. I understand the idea behind the fades...I just don't think it was as effective as other transitions could've been. I just would have made a few different choices as far as that's concerned.

But honestly, those things are a reach. I really loved this. WATCH IT!
