Another one of Paulisdead2221's masterpieces. I didn't know I needed a version of the Truman Show filtered through the eye of Alfred Hitchcock, turns out I really do need one. To say it was a joy to watch this version is an understatement. The imagination on display is breathtaking. The fact that almost a third of the movie is cut and yet the story flows so perfectly is just so damn impressive. Excellent. I can't wait for Paul's next FanMix.

What a fantastic edit! Always loved The Truman Show, so it was really cool to see it done in this style. The score, visual editing and just overall Lynchian/Hitchcockian aesthetic was amazing to see!

This is a transformative example of what editing can do, and its potential to change the meaning of a film.

There were only a couple of instances where the black and white “hidden camera” filter was used at the wrong shots, making it seem impossible the camera could be placed in such a position. But they were few compared with the overall editing done here.

The score was great, the pacing was superb. Overall, experiencing this is absolutely recommended, it’s an opus of editing.

I could not recall what wasn't there, beyond the segment on the Creator and the segment which recaps the history of The Truman Show, but I don't think that accounts for the missing 30 min.

The narrative isn't changed at all, so it's essentially still the same story.

The visual change with the Hitchcock themes is great, and the audio is appropriate for invoking Hitchcock; the new, Hitchcock-style B&W opening is perfectly executed, and there were no noticeable problems in the edits, EXCEPT for the moment when Truman is driving his wife for a few loops on the roundabout, there's a moment where he is shown speaking but the music is playing over that whole moment, so it's a very apparent and odd situation where the protagonist is speaking to a side character, but the music has shut that out. A little bit of a problem. Otherwise, I like this presentation, it's a great idea and it works, and nothing is left unexplained or plot-holed, the shortening by 30 min. is nice.

Anyone interested in fanedits at all should definitely see this, a terrific idea well executed, and creators can take inspiration as to what boundaries they can stretch their editing concepts.

While the original would still be my prefered version this is a great and original take on it. Telling the story entirely from Trumans point of view and leaving the audience as confused by what is happeing really adds great tension and suspense. As a viewer I can imagine a first time viewer trying to unravel the mystery and firgure out what is happening just like a classic Hitchcock thriller. The resocring of the entire film is especialy noteworthy. Very carefully and well solected Bernard Hermann tunes. Loved it!
