Man of Steel: A Symbol of Hope

Simplesmente agora dá para ver as cores do personagem que nos traz a sensação de esperança que ele carrega, O filme original com as cores frias deixa o tom mais soturno e depreciado, e o fato desse corte entender que o Clark sofrendo bullying no restaurante de um caminheiro não precisa resultar em ele destruir o seu camião tirando o seu meio de renda (sendo que o Jonathan Kent no filme inteiro o ensina a não usar a força em vão), e falando em Jonathan a sua morte no filme é melhor resolvida dentro do possível. A nova mixagem da trilha sonora também faz bem para o filme, no original parece que o pessoal estava muito empolgado em ter o Hans Zimmer que eles exageram no tom em algumas partes do filme. No geral, a única coisa que eu não gostei foi a remoção da cena de batalha entre o Superman e Faora-Ul em Smallville, mas não chega a ser importante para o progresso do filme.

Now this was an edit I truly enjoyed. Some of the minor changes really help improve the narrative, even if relatively minor. These include Clark smashing the truck and satellite - both behaviors that really should be out of character for Superman lore and just diminish his character. The trimming of various fight scenes also helped smooth out some of the pacing issues this movie had because they would get needleslly dragged out.

I really enjoyed the additional soundtrack inserted throughout the movie to give certain critical moments extra emotional impact. This was a nice touch by the editor. The color correction also helped make things pop out in a more positive manner. You would also be hard-pressed to notice any of the cuts made. All new audio inserted was smooth and seamless.

Some of the minor narrative differences I had were the removal of Jonathan indicating to Clark he should not be saved and the removal of his scream after killing Zod. I felt those few seconds were critical into allowing the audience to understand Clark's raw emotions.

I want to thank the editor for sharing this nicely done edit with me. This will be the version that I intend to rewatch in the future.

I won't write too much but the changes made here, both big and small, really improve the flow of the film. Some of the more gratuitously adult material has been removed (like taunting the hologram about pain, Mr. Kent saying to leave a bunch of children to die, some of the cursing, etc.) and I'd argue the film is better for it. It's a Superman movie, I don't need too much gritiness.

The color changes are the part that really worked for me. Seeing his suit pop with red and blue like that made it feel way more like a Superman movie, and reducing the eggregious action/destruction to the bare necessities really kept the pace moving. Also removing Lois from a few key moments, ever so slightly, really kept the focus on Superman where it belonged.

Highly recommended. It won't change your opinion about the movie if you hate it, but if like me you thought it was a 7.5, it'll make you think it's an 8.5.

I can say i completely forgot the original cut after this one. Some things can't be fixed only by editing but this is truly shows with aome effort you can make things better. Highly recommended!
