Really lived up to the description of the edit. Spoilers below.

Used this as a rewatch along with the unedited John wick 2. I orignally preferred John Wick 2 over the original handily, but this edit has turned the tables on that. It feels and flows much more naturally and spaces out the action scenes well without feeling overwhelming. I didn't miss the flashbacks or side characters which were cut out. I felt the fight against Viggo at the end was much less campy and felt more gritty.

The scene of Marcus getting killed seemed a bit iffy, but I can't remember if that was the original or edited. Also I do wish the scene of Mr.s Perkins getting excommunicated was somehow kept in. Finally, I think the edit cut out the shot showing that the new dog he adopted was scheduled for euthanization in the closing scene which I think could have been left in as well.

Overall great edit and would highly recommend.

This edit is essentially a much tighter edit of an already excellent film, this edit moves at a phenomenal pace and I absolutely enjoyed the black and white as it fits perfectly and also gives it a much grittier feel that complements the intense fun action scenes. For anyone who's already a big fan of the original version of John Wick or a first time viewer, I would definitely recommend this edit.

To sell this edit quick, it´s fantastic.
Unnecessary and silly scenes cut to improve the pacing even more. It´s a joy to watch this and i like it more than the theatrical cut.
What doesn´t work in my opinion, is the scene after the funeral where he takes his ride to the airplane field and than cut to him being home again, due to the difference in clothes he is wearing.
The b&w approach is very interesting, adds some gritty feeling to the movie, although it is not perfect (how could it be, if the movie wasn´t shot in chroma/b&w).
The thing that bothers me, is the grain (added or due to compression?) to the movie, independent if its in color or b&w. It is too strong, would´ve loved an minimalistic approach.
Also there is only the ac3 track, which is a bit disappointing.

John Wick: Point Blank Cut is essentially a much tighter edit of an already very tightly paced film. This edit moves at a phenomenal pace and I absolutely adored how the editor incorporated black-and-white. It looks beyond gorgeous here and it also gives it a much grittier feel that beautifully complements the brutal and intense but still wildly fun action sequences. For anyone who's already a big fan of the original version of John Wick, I have a good feeling you'll be a big fan of this take on it too.

Top notch. This film looks gorgeous in black and white. I would need Throw to explain to me color spaces and crushed blacks but I just know it looked crisp and awesome. :) Narratively, there's some smart tightening of an already pretty tight movie. It all plays. The Russian mob boss's number 2 not knowing Russian was always annoying to me, so that's fixed. We get enough of the character to make the action resonate, which I think was the intent here. There's not really any more character work in the theatrical, anyway. Technically great and very enjoyable edit.
