Truly a great edit of "The Hobbit" trilogy. The cuts are seamless throughout, with only minor issues during the last battle. Overall this is tremendous.

DonKamillo belongs up there with the studios. I watched the movie format and this cut vastly improves on the theatrical releases. It has the right amount of action. The original had so much fighting going on I'm just zoned out when it came to the battle at the end. This one trims it down so it's more climactic at the battle of the five armies. This movie will always be a CGI mess but oh well. This edit is almost perfect. I personally prefer to forget that I'm watching a fanedit so I prefer edits to make it less obvious. For example, Paramount being replaced with 'Anti-Cringe' and the fanedit credit coming up first in the credits (I suggest moving it to the middle of the credits or at the end.) It raises questions from someone that I'm watching it with that doesn't know it's a fanedit. I like to have the people I'm watching with unaware so that they watch the movie naturally and aren't thinking about the editing or any changes made. In general people enjoy & care about the movie a lot more than they normally would and it's pretty great. Again, this is a great cut and lets Peter Jackson's good intentions shine through.

This is the go-to version of the Hobbit trilogy. In this edit you follow the main crew the whole way. And it is completely by the book! It is divided in episodes and it is rare to find series that keep you hooked and want to binge everything.
It works all the way till the end, but if I should nitpick, the narrative is not seamless at the end at the battle, and Thorins dragon/gold sickness feels long and slow. But that is more of a script and directors fault, and this version is still BETTER, so don’t get me wrong. If there were any material to fill in some gaps during the battle it could be a 10!

Donkamillo succeeded with a thrilling, funny and epic version of the story (just like the book), without all the bad and cringy action and side plots.

Often I've wondered what could have been. I no longer wonder after watching this excellent edit. This is the pinnacle of fan edits for the Hobbit series and I consider myself lucky to have been able to watch it. This world doesn't deserve DonKamillo but we are lucky to have him. Do yourself a favor and watch this film edit. I will no longer be watching the original theatrical cuts.

After having seen various edits, I believe this one to be the best. I like how well scenes with Azog have been diminished or removed. He also had a very unique and fairly appealing way of dealing with the difficult to edit fight scene between Azog and Thorin at the end of the film. I would highly recommend this fan edit.
