Thank you so much for removing that messed up scene that happens to Rachel in Decker's apartment. I read an interview where the actress said that scene was added as revenge against her because she refused to "date" the director. Completely messed up and had absolutely nothing to do with Decker or his "growth".

I enjoyed this edit tremendously. Much better than the original, IMHO. I found the original to be kind 9f slow and bored me at times. This edit flowed much smoother.

Obviously we all love Blade Runner, (or we wouldn't get this far down the rabbit hole), so I, (like many others) have watched many different versions of this film. These include all the "official" versions and 2 or 3 FanEdits.
This Good Guy Deckard edit was chanced upon, as I was watching one of Wakeupkeos' other edits (Tin Cup), but I can honestly say I enjoyed this version like a new film. The narrative gives you a whole new appreciation of what Ridley was trying to say about humanity, (I certainly didn't miss that fucking stupid unicorn) and highlights the acting chops of Ford and Hauer. I really loved the music arrangements, but couldn't pinpoint where Wakeupkeo made the changes, it just worked. I also liked the atmosphere and lighting, it seemed to add to the overall appreciation of some of the scenes.

Thank you Wakeupkeo for an excellent edit of my favorite film.

Excellent edit, excellent. By removing every reference to the killing committed by the escaped replicants, you made them more sympathetic. I also liked the fact that Deckard in this version is forced to go back to work, because obviously Bryant has something against him (maybe Deckard actually retired a human by mistake, and Bryant knows about it ?).
No unicorn dream made the exact nature of Deckard more ambiguous, I prefer it this way, I never really liked the idea that Deckard is a replicant, I prefer to see him as Blade Runner who slowly becomes aware that replicants are actually more human than human.
The deleted scenes are cool, I feel even more sorry of Holden, now that we see him in coma.
Also thanks for sparing Sebastian, his death was unnecessary, the poor guy is already living hell, no need for Roy to brutally kill him.
My only complaint is about the unicorn origami in the end. Now that Deckard is no longer having that dream, it seems a little out of place. But maybe it can be viewed as a random origami left by Gaff meaning that he knows about Rachel, and he is willing to let them escape.

This is the way to watch Blade Runner!

The removal of the narration is definitely the biggest improvement here. It seems odd to me that no other edit does that. The cuts are seamless and the technical quality of this edit is impeccable. I especially appreciate the removal of the scenes that make the Replicant seem like intrinsically bad people. The "trapped Rachel" scene was incredibly unncessary in the original, and this edit doesn't suffer at all from its removal. This edit makes their ploy more believable, and more relatable to the viewer. Deckard is also shown, obviously, as a good man, making the story morally nuanced.

I definitely recommend you watch this edit! It's definitely replaced the original version for me.

This is an interesting edit of the original Blade Runner. Whilst watching I could tell that things have been altered, however outside of any major scene cuts/removals I wasn't able to quite put my finger on what the precise changes were. I think the changes were more noticeable at the start of the film and it gave the film a slightly different feel and pacing to the ordinal. It conjured up in my mind, the feel of 70's US detective/cop films, in term of the edit / cut style earlier in the film.

The editing is well executed and reading the change list (after I had watched the film) I can see that a lot of thought and effort went into this edit. Great work!
