the original 2049 was not a perfect sequel by any means, with its unnecessary revolution sub plot and fanservice moments that added nothing to the story.
This version fixes that, making it a much more enjoyable experience along with the music from Vangelis that fits perfectly into this films world just as it did in the original. This is an amazing edit and I recommend it to any blade runner fans to give it a watch.

I really loved this take on Blade Runner: 2049 and found the execution flawless. Blade Runner and Vangelis go hand in hand so this was a fanedit that I hoped for, even before finding out one existed. Avoiding the original score was a smart move as the music is so familiar it might have seemed pastiche, which this edit isn't at all. Whilst I would have been happy for the Wallace scenes to be left in, I'm glad they were removed as Leto's performance is complete garbage and I can only think that he ended up where he did with that character because his scenes were brief and he wanted to leave an impression. If you were going to remove one thing, that would be it. Perfectly happy for the Rachel scene to go too, as it proved so controversial that seeing it breaks immersion every time.

Overall I would recommend this fan edit without hesitation. It sets out exactly what it achieves too and executes its vision pretty much perfectly. I won't say which version I prefer, because I think both this and the original compliment each other and I expect to alternate between them in the future, depending on my mood.

If you're interested in a Vangelis-scored Blade Runner: 2049 (and who wouldn't be) then you should definitely give this fanmix a go.

The new score achieves everything that’s possible within this film, and the feel and atmosphere of it becomes incredible. The score is mesmerizing, ethereal, celestial… It changes the film for the better, every scored scene has its meaning changed / intensified.

The ending song, in particular, was pure perfection; it changed an ending that didn’t “click” for me into one that really works (coupled with a short video edit).

The video changes and the small edits and reordering of scenes all contributed to create a better, more streamlined story. I particularly enjoyed the removal of many of the fanservice moments.

Cheers!

The visual changes to the movie are very well done and make for a very enjoyable narrative - less Wallace is of great benefit to the film!

The re-score was about 50/50 for me; about half the time I thought the bgm was *chef’s kiss* - very Blade Runner-y and fitting the scene perfectly - and the other half thinking it didn’t compliment the visuals or should have been absent entirely.

I highly recommend this edit as I think it improves the film; though I felt some of the music choices were a bit off the technical editing is without fault.
