Although it's been a while since I've seen this series, I think this edit is infinitely more satisfying than the original trilogy. I'm not sure if every copy is like this (and I struggled to find even one), but there was some audio sync issues early on (only off by about half a second). I may have found version 1 instead of version 2, although I don't really know. I originally desperately tried to find Wraith's original trilogy edit but in the end I'm glad I watched this instead. It seems the other trilogy edit had over an hour more included (and wasn't rearranged nearly as well as this is), and honestly even with some weird dialogue from time to time, I think this flowed better all the way through. I'm also not sure I would want to sit for 4 hours and 20 minutes and watch the minutiae of every relationship they tried to cram into the damn trilogy (or over 6 for the original trilogy, talk about excruciating).

So while yes a lot of character motivations have been glossed over and we may not feel all the appropriate emotional beats, in terms of action and plotting this edit is king. If you want a streamlined story where every subplot isn't explored (and I feel like a lot of the included rogue/iceman scenes should have been cut) then this works really well. A few times in the edit its unclear why someone said something (due to the reordering) but I would say 90% of the time it works.

But then again it totally depends on what you want out of the trilogy. Wraith has given us about as close as you can get to a true live action Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga as we'll ever get, and I in particular really appreciate the darker less cheesy tone throughout. I think you executed your vision for a more serious trilogy that's not tailored to children/all audiences and I think the trilogy is better off for it.

I was really looking forward to this edit being a fan of all things X-Men but I have to say i was disappointed with this edit. After an hour I was struggling to continue to watch it due to the amount of continuity errors that really took me out of the edit .

It didn’t need two introduction

Continuity issues were addressed with the removal of Kitty Pryde in X1 but then she’s in X2 and then X3 she’s played by a different actress. Same problem with Pyro

The deleted scenes shouldn’t have been included due to the drop in quality as it just takes you out of the edit

Xaviers suit changes from dark blue to grey when visiting Eric

Jeans hair style changes from one scene to another (the inclusion of the deleted scene from X1 her hair is long next scene is back to being short again)

wolverine’s clothes change from the bar scene to when we see him at the dam

How doe’s Eric know so much about the Wolverine when he’s been in prison all this time, the first time he’s meet him is at the camp fire

Way too many scenes of Wolverine/Jean romance and Wolverine/Scott rivalry have been removed. Wolverines reaction after Jean’s death seem’s alitttle out of the blue because of this

The deleted fight scene between Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike has wire’s that are clearly visible it’s inclusion in this edit is shocking

The third film really wasn’t needed the editor created a new film out of X1 and X2 which ran for 2hours. The main problem with the third film is that it had too much story for such a short running time (104mins). Here the problem remains only it’s been crammed into 75mins.

Both Todd and Sabertooth are were told associates of Magneto yet in X3 he’s recruiting mutants. They should have been removed from the film. Just why is Sabertooth attacking Wolverine for any way?

To many scenes of kitty and Colouss are removed though at the end their suddenly X-men

I’m really disappointed that so many mistakes have been made given that the editor has shown what a great job in combing the first two x-men movies.the edit felt like a work in progress.

Overall 5/10
