Brief Synopsis:
So... X-Men Apocalypse, this is not a very good movie, not the worst X-Men movie, but close. As bad as it is, there really aren't any edits of it out there. The only one that I have found is Bobson's extended cut. So I decided to try to tackle this one myself.
Intention:
The main purpose of this edit, other than just trying to make it a decent X-Men movie, is to make it fit into the continuity of the others.
Additional Notes:
I've kind of got my own "continuity edits" going. For my continuity it goes... 1. First Class 2. My edit of Wolverine 3. My edit of Apocalypse 4. X-Men 5. X2 6. The Last Stand 7. The Wolverine 8. Days of Future Past 9. Logan
Release Information:
Digital
Cuts and Additions:
Major changes include...
Removed the entire opening scene in ancient Egypt. It's not good, and it is all explained later anyway. Plus, it adds a little mystery to Apocalypse.
Removed Scott in High School. I did this to fit into continuity with my Wolverine: Weapon X edit. There is already a scene in it where Scott gets his powers.
Removed the mutant fight club and the whole side story of Mystique rescuing other mutants.
Removed Charles' creepiness about Moira. He still kinda has a thing for her and is nervous around her, but he hasn't been watching her.
Removed a lot of the "teen X-Men" stuff, for example... they don't go to the mall in my cut.
Removed all references to Magneto being Quicksilver's dad.
Removed a lot of the over the top destruction toward the end.
Removed references to anything that happens in Days of Future Past.
Trimmed the Wolverine scene. Wolverine no longer interacts with the young X-Men team at all. This way it makes more sense that Jean (and the others) do not know him in the original trilogy.
Removed some bad CGI.
Removed most of, but not all of, Mystique becoming a leader of the X-Men. This includes removing the training scene at the end.
Removed the post credit scene.
