Brief Synopsis:
Boba Fett escapes the Sarlac, gives up bounty hunting, and becomes a friendly tusken tribalist. Years later, as he attempts to gain the respect of a small town on Tatooine by preventing a greedy syndicate from taking control, he befriends a loving rancor. This edit removes scenes that are irrelevant to the plot and also puts everything in chronological order.
Intention:
I wanted to see the show in chronological order. I also wanted to remove/shorten some of my least favorite moments in all of Star Wars. Originally I intended to make the movie under 2 hours 30 minutes but I felt that too much was missing so I decided to keep as much intact as possible, only omitting the worst offenders.

- MOVED all dream sequences to be chronological (except for young Boba dreams)
- REMOVED Boba being digested in belly of Sarlac (Not necessary. Also, how’d a stormtrooper get down there?)
- REMOVED Rodian finding first water pod in sand (the pod just appeared on the surface of the sand and made it seem like a simple task)
- REMOVED Nose lizard and trippy tree scene (I found it to be too weird for weirdness sake…unnecessary for plot.)
- REMOVED Mod parlor in Mos Eisley scene (tonal whiplash)
- REMOVED Rat catcher droid in kitchen scene (“I am Boba Fett”…was that supposed to be humor? Seriously, I couldn’t tell what they were going for with that scene.)
- REMOVED Flying down to and bombing the Sarlac (He escaped with his armor on, why would it still be down there?)
- ADDED short montage of clips from The Mandalorian S02E01 (Cobb Vanth finding Boba Fett’s armor on sand crawler then giving the armor to Din Djarin and Boba seeing Din ride off with the armor)

- REMOVED Assassins poking Boba and Fennec through their shields in slow motion (just get on with the fight already!)
- TRIMMED Fennec walking assassin to Boba’s palace (pacing)
- TRIMMED Boba and Fennec walking assassin to Mayor’s office (pacing)

I think it just about works as a film. It may be slightly too long and I would have liked to have seen what the editor would have done with the shorter version, but it works a lot better chronologically. It seems the rainbow speeder tribe and annoying delegate have been trimmed down, which is what was desperately needed as I couldn't really stand either of those in the series. The film differs from the series as it solely concentrates more on Boba Fett, as I felt that the series became very lost, especially when it decided to wonder into "Mandalorian" territory instead of simply concentrating on Boba since it's his story.
I personally was a bit disappointed with the series itself when you think about how much you do could with the character of Boba Fett. Since the series was aired we haven't heard anything about a follow up or any further plans to delve into any other previous stories of Boba's life. It wasn't so much a "Book of Boba Fett", it's more "The Chapter of Boba Fett", which was a bit of a shame since I was hoping to see what Boba did after Jango's death and his bounty hunter lifestyle before and during Jabba's rule. I also loved the idea of the Clone Civil War on Kamino from the 2005 version of Battlefront II and really hoped it could become canon in such a series where Boba could lead an team of clones. But no. We were given Game of Thrones styled Star Wars instead. And that's fine, but it didn't really have to end there.
The edit itself is done very well and carefully put together. I couldn't see anything visually or sound-wise that let the film down. I think Boba getting his armour and killing Bib Fortuna may have been slightly rushed, but that's probably more due to what footage was available and what the editor could do with it. Nonetheless, it's a good edit and I would watch it again.
