I finally got around to giving this edit a watch, and I was not disappointed. I haven't given this film the same sort of close look I have to the saga films, and remember my three previous viewings as somewhat ho-hum. I really enjoyed it this time around, with DigMod's edit flashing across my screen. In fairness, it might be partly due to having given Solo a rest and returning later with fresh eyes. It wasn't until I read the cutlist that I started to remember bits and pieces that he had removed seamlessly.

If you'd have asked me, I would have told you I didn't think optical wipe transitions would have been necessary, and I don't think they are, but they really did feel nice to have. The visual work that (I'm told, because I sure wouldn't have noticed) was necessary in a few places was seamless, as was 100% of the audio work. I listened on a good (stereo) system and noticed no issues, and I'm somewhat of a stickler on that stuff. I wonder if it would have been better to allow the "we'll have you flying in no time" gag to remain since the added optical wipe transition there does not allow for any new material to be seen.
The opening 'Fox' fanfare and SW opening crawl worked better than I thought they would, though I would still prefer if the same content were presented with the blue ALTAIAGFFA text. Just a personal preference; the editor's intentions are implemented effectively.

The film doesn't feel edited at all, apart from the opening crawl. I appreciate giving the implication that Han came up with the 'Solo' surname himself, rather than a hokey moment in which an Imperial officer assigns it to him. In the new canon, we know Solo was an improvised name anyway, so this change almost certainly won't be sniped by any future Star Wars works. Removing the Maul cameo was much appreciated, and removes a serious WTF moment many audience members had who hadn't cared to venture deep into what I still consider to be rather ugly cartoons. L3 wasn't nearly as annoying this time around, though there were only a few moments I consciously noted had been removed as I was watching, the remainder going undetected.

I was genuinely surprised at the extent to which I enjoyed my viewing experience, and it seems this edit is greater than the sum of its individual trims. Fantastic work; it makes me glad that I don't have to trudge into the muck of this film myself. Very, very well done.

An amazing edit, highly recommended!
I did not like the theatrical release of Solo. I thought it was a bad case of fan-service, coupled with cringe-worthy dialogues. I gave this edit a chance because of my good experience with previous edits by DigModiFicaTion. And indeed - it was a delight.
As other commenters have mentioned, the first big difference is the color palette - gone is the blue hue, and everything feels more alive. The editing is wonderful, and I had to go over the changes list to find out exactly how many bits were removed. Honestly - I don't miss any of those bits, and the plot moves perfectly without them.
Moreover, removing the sexual innuendo between Lando and L3 turned their relationship into a more relatable one, and helps with immersion into the film. Additionally, trimming the explicit calls for rebellion helped shape L3's character as more than a caricature.
All in all - this edit is not only enjoyable, but re-watchable.

TLJ and Solo A Star Wars Story are definitely two of the baddest movies of the SW Saga, IMO of course.

This movie is a bit more enjoyable to me due to the excellent work that DigModiFicaTion has done.

These are, for me, the high points of this edit:
+Excellent color correction that removed that gray/blue whatever tint filter that, nowadays, every filmmaker uses and we can't see nothing clearly
+The three Star Destroyers approaching Mimban scene
+A bit more action in the Battle of Mimban
+Less gibberish in general, L3 in particular

Having or removing Maul works for me.

Keep it up Digi =)

I enjoyed this edit a lot. Cutting down the droid antics greatly improved it as well as cutting out that cameo, especially if we never get a sequel to this one.
Well done!

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm I was excited for new Star Wars content under the Disney banner. When TFA and Rouge One were released it appeared LFL was on the right track with the fans and were mostly well received. Unfortunately this goodwill with fans went south after The Last Jedi was released to the public. Only two movies in and there was already an uproar (with good reason). Like a lot of SW fans I did not watch Solo in the cinemas due to the The Last Jedi being such a disgrace of a movie. Eventually I was able to watch the it for free on DVD and realized I was glad I skipped it. However, there is a good movie hidden under the identity politics and SJW pandering. Digmodification has created the movie that should have been released at the cinemas with this edit. The sexual innuendo between Lando and L3-37 which was just so awkward and unnecessary has been completely removed. L3-37 has been pushed to the background and is almost likable (but still cringy at times). The distracting blue hue has been removed with the color grading so the snow is now white and not blue and much easier on the eyes. However, in the worm's thing hideout in Corellia, the blue hue is left on on to purpose give the hideout a gloomy atmosphere. As there will probalby never by a Solo2 sequel I'm glad the Maul scene has been removed as it felt out pf place and forced fan service. Now the ending appears as if Q'ira is abandoning Han to take over the crime syndicate which I quite like. Digmodification mentioned he would re-add the Maul scene if there is a sequel. Overall, this is a great edit that removes many of the unnecessary scenes and dialogue and that plagued the movie and fixes the color grading that made it hard to watch. Would highly recommend it.
