Absolutely wonderful. This is Star Wars on STEROIDS!

Adywan’s epic ‘fan edit’ is a thrilling revelation in many ways, compared to the underwhelming ‘creative choices’ of what had been a much-anticipated 2004 ‘Special Edition’ DVD release by Lucasfilm. In addition to the more obvious enhancements and carefully-considered trimming, it’s the numerous SUBTLE corrections and improvements throughout this version that combine to make this edit so successful.

Although there are some additions and omissions by Adywan that not every fan may entirely agree with, if this had been the actual ‘Special Edition’ DVD release back in 2004, then most of the more expectant ones would have been very satisfied. A lot of painstaking effort has gone into this project over a long period, and it shows spectacularly. Adywan has revitalised the whole look of the movie with better overall colour-correction, than was seen on the 2004 DVD release, and has given the soundtrack a better-defined Dolby Digital 5.1 overhaul too. Best of all, he has created some amazing all-new effects which perfectly integrate into the existing visuals.

Who knows, perhaps Adywan’s efforts will inspire Lucasfilm itself to look again at what could be achieved with it’s disappointingly delayed ’30th Anniversary Boxset’, BEFORE it’s finally released…. However, ‘Star Wars Revisited’ is now the best-looking (and sounding) version of ‘A New Hope’ for the foreseeable future, and even the mighty Lucasfilm have a task ahead if they are to impress all those that have seen the high standard set by this particularly creative edit.

And it doesn’t end here…. Suggestions are once again being considered by the talented Adywan on the OriginalTrilogy.com forum, as he currently develops his version of ‘Empire Revisited’, and eventually the rest of the Star Wars saga…. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will only enhance these for the better too in ways that will surprise.

Star Wars is BACK!
