Octorox is a fantastic editor, having made phenomenal edits to all three Star Wars prequel films. His cuts are not too liberal, not too conservative, but always "just right". He has an impeccable sense of what needs to go, what needs to stay, and what needs a little tweaking—all while respecting the source material.

This edit is no different. It mostly excises some of the more juvenile humor, and adds in some music familiar to those who play the video games. It is a subtle edit, which is all this film really needed. Removing a lot of the cringe really helps what's good about this film actually shine.

I am hopeful that Octorox will make an edit to the sequel, as that film's flaws were much more egregious, particularly the wedding subplot that didn't really serve any real purpose and detracted heavily from the plot. I think the wedding subplot was added to appeal to adult viewers, but it just falls flat and pulls the rest of the film down.

All in all, this is a great edit, and a must watch for anyone who enjoyed the movie or is a diehard sonic fan.
