I loved the Scott Pilgrim movie and I love old school video games, so this fanedit was perfect for me. The passion that the editor has for the material and his intention is clearly visible in this edit. It feels like a super-high-tech SNES video game.

A/V Quality: Perfectly fine DVD5 quality. And the audio sounded good coming from my 2.0 headphones. 9/10

Visual Editing: There were some fades that could have been done better, but they didn’t distract me. The blending of the animated segments were perfect and sealed the deal on the video game experience. 9/10

Audio Editing: I loved all the added music and sound effects. Great work there. Not every transition was perfect, but nothing terrible. 8/10

Narrative: Excellently done. The set-up cut scenes feel like set-up cut scenes. The fight stages and level transitions were perfectly staged.

(DVD data that applies to Narrative.) Really nice DVD menus. I would have made those “Bonus Levels” separate special features instead of end-credit segments, but that’s kinda nitpicking since you set up the chapter marks correctly.

10/10 Narrative.

Enjoyment: This was such a blast to watch. Highly recommended if you’re a fan of either Scott Pilgrim or old school video games. 10/10

Just a quick review, I enjoyed this immensely, I've seen scott pilgrim several times, with two extended edits on top of that, so logically it makes sense that this time I'd opt for a shorter cut.

I really liked the way this was carried out, skipping all the story to get to the fights with a little bit of this and that in between, the storyboard stills from the video game helped to flesh things out.

Like others have said the transitions sometimes seemed a bit... forced or abrupt and noticeable, but as this is one of those edits where the intention is not to make a better film, I am willing to overlook the obvious.

Its a faster paced sott pilgrim with more of a video game feel, that said I liked the inclusion of the other characters endings from the game, and the use of the game's soundtrack in the end credits.

very nice effort.

Foreword: I haven't seen the original in sometime, which I prefer for watching edits and I also didn't review the changes (log) ahead of watching, which I also prefer. I looked at the edit list back when I downloaded the edit, but I like to not know what I'm walking into; I don't watch an edit for a few months or more after downloading it.

What I liked: I enjoyed some of the new music as well. It was engaging and had a stream lined story. The video game graphics and cut scenes were awesome, made the whole thing feel exciting.

What I didn't: The intro was very good at letting you know what was happening but between the fight scenes I didn't always understand the jump. If I was going to be nit-picky, I'd also mention that it is pointed out as 8-bit graphics but the graphics are 16-bit (at least I thought so judging them by the NES and SNES)...really a very small thing.

Overall: I really enjoyed this and it felt more ambitious than most edits, and for that reason if felt fresh and a very different experience than the original. I would recommend people check this out. I don't think this replaces the original but it does sit well alongside the original.

Extra: Keep up the good work. I think if you had the time and will you could make this even more compelling. Some of the scenes cut in were a lot lower quality, which is not your fault and made them standout. The new footage might sit along with the main footage better, if the main footage was slightly lower quality too? Just a thought.
