Like other Romero fans, I was somewhat disappointed by the original version of Land Of The Dead. I own all the originals many times over and Romero’s version of this never felt right sitting next to the others.

Then I saw Mollo’s FanCut, which corrects Romero’s various missteps and somehow opens the world of the film up, thus making this film so much more epic than it had previously been.

The film is now so much more watchable and seems to be truer to Romero (or at least the things we like about Romero’s films) than Romero could achieve.

I do miss the puppet zombie at the film’s opening (and to a lesser extent the Savini zombie), but that’s a small price to pay.

This edit flows better than the original movie,love the new prolog,and the best part is how John Leguizamo character Cholo comes off like a harden bastard and more to the point in his actions.No more sniveling and being a cry baby.This is the version I will be picking out whenever I feel like watching the Living Dead series.Thanks.
