I was extremely disappointed on first watching this in the cinema, a feeling only accentuated when I re-watched it on Disney Plus release. As great as the portrayal of Kang was, there was just too much silliness and I thought this bloated CGI mess could not be redeemed, even by a skilled fan editor- the content just wouldn't be there to create an enjoyable viewing experience. Happy to now say I was wrong. This much more succinct and fast paced version is highly preferably. Much of the silliness and OTT humour has been removed or trimmed. The early scenes have been restructured and we now open with the a focus on Kang, which sets us off on a strong footing. Is it perfect? No, but a minor miracle has been performed with footage available.

I have to begin by saying this edit is absolutely amazing. It took out all the unnecessary fluff and made the film what it should have been in the first place. A good movie. I was immediately drawn into the world of the Quantum Realm, and felt the real heart of the story. The video quality is top notch, the audio was crystal clear. and the rendering is done perfectly. Thanks to all who have contributed to making this, and I am grateful for having the ability to see it. A very well done piece of work.

Watched this the other night and it fixes everything wrong with the original. The focus on Kang is there. Instead of just having to focus on Ant-Man it focuses on the entire team and reminds you how much Ant-Man needs the Wasp. The running time is so perfect and the ending left me so satisfied. Looking forward to more stuff. Thank you.

A really good edit for a really bad movie.

There is some minor issues with the audio editing where some cuts are obvious. But, it does not distract from the overall goal that the editor is trying to achieve.

I loved that the side-characters were toned down a lot, including MODOK and Jentorra were totally removed and it helps the pacing a lot. Also ensures that we do not delve on Scott and Gang for unnecessarily long time as I felt the original movie had weak main characters in terms of chemistry and motivations.

The edit shrinks the runtime by more than 30 minutes is very welcome as well as I liked that the Kang and Janet scenes were moved to the start was welcome as well.

Overall, I think its a good edit that salvages the original without letting making unnecessary changes.

This was a very solid edit. The editor turned what I felt was a mediocre/okay movie into a good one.

I should note I watched this edit by mirroring my laptop to my television because for reasons unknown to me the video file was incompatible with my TV. Thankfully, the video quality remained quite sharp and the audio was spot on. There were no noticeable issues there. I did note some minor instances of where there were cuts of dialogue. Would a casual or first-time viewer notice those cuts? Probably not. I watched the edit knowing in advance what to expect, which I regret. I should have came in blind to maximize my viewing pleasure.

Like other reviews stated, the rearranging of scenes, particularly the new opening (and even title of the movie), were all solid changes to help setup a better tone for the movie. The editor really excelled at removing 2 characters from the movie. I knew they were removed in advance, and I was looking to see if that caused the narrative to become disjointed. I did not notice anybody was missing, and all credit to the editor here.

My biggest and only gripe with the edit was the heartbeat portion. It did not resonate with me. I felt it disrupted the tension instead of amplifying it. It came off as forced and unnatural. Perhaps heavy breathing sounds would have been a better fit.

This edit turns this movie into a fun and enjoyable experience that is good for all ages with the removal of sexual references. I do not have a problem with adult material, but really unecessary in a Marvel movie that appeals to children. Overall, the edit made this a good movie, but I would not call it great given the limitations of the material the editor had to work with. Making it into a good movie is all one could ask for.

I want to thank tremault for sharing her edit with me. I recommend others to give it a shot as this is definitely one to rewatch in the future.
