As with all TM2YC edits, the AV quality and editing are top-notch.

The changes are all executed seamlessly, and for me at least make for an improved experience over the original film. I watched the B&W version and I think it works really well. It's the trims to maintain pace that make this edit stand out for me.

The best parts of John Wick are the action scenes - but the original cut has a bit too much flab to show them off at their best. There are some ropey lines and humour that falls flat, so the film is better served by excising them and shifting the focus.

Along the way, TM2YC manages to also address a couple of minor irritations in the film - namely John leaving Perkins alive after she tries to kill him (for no good reason, save maybe an implied "he doesn't like killing women" notion) and Vigo somehow being able to go the distance in a hand to hand fight with John.

The end result is a much tighter version of the same story - the characters don't have much depth, and the story is simple, but both statements are also true of the original cut. Minor issues still exist in the film (like all the assassins constantly going on about how they follow a code of honour, which they all appear to break in the course of the film) but they are all down to the original script.

Specific praise is also due for the effort put into the subtitling - the original styling had some nice flair, but not quite enough to justify its presence (unlike, say, the amazing animated subtitles in Night Watch) so the new classic-style subtitles along with the added and tweaked dialogue helps bring a consistency to the film.

TM2YC's intention for this edit was to create an alternate viewing experience, and in that he has been very successful. For me at least, he has created a replacement version of the film that means I will most likely not watch the theatrical cut again.

Overall Comment: A true to form edit that removes the unnecessary banter in between breathing moments.

Audio/Video Quality: I quite enjoyed the visuals in noir but gained more satisfaction in color due to the difference in audio intensity. Actions should've been more clearer when a film is in noir to express the intensity and varying levels of expression, a few scenes drowned this out with the background music blaring, in color though, this was justified and snug quite perfectly.

Visual Editing: The in-between cuts were fantastic and the bullet-time scene in the Red Circle stood out magnificently!

Audio Editing: As with my comment above regarding the action/movement intensity.

Narrative: This is now the go-to cut for the original, the centrism on John was seamless, fast, and what can I say "point-blank".

Enjoyment: I love this cut, the overall quality astounds me in every turn, I don't even mind what we're cut anymore as they've now settled-in as padding to an otherwise great movie!

Loved every minute of this edit!
It fly's by and leaves you wanting more. I chose to watch this version before I viewed the sequel.
It's well worth your time seeking it out.

Ive watched both Color and B&W variations. but will recommend the B&W version as it's the editors preference.

I would of loved a 1080p version with a 5.1 mix as I view my movies in a home cinema a/v environment, but again I think it was to do with the editor's preference, so it's a mute point.

To sell this edit quick, it´s fantastic.
Unnecessary and silly scenes cut to improve the pacing even more. It´s a joy to watch this and i like it more than the theatrical cut.
What doesn´t work in my opinion, is the scene after the funeral where he takes his ride to the airplane field and than cut to him being home again, due to the difference in clothes he is wearing.
The b&w approach is very interesting, adds some gritty feeling to the movie, although it is not perfect (how could it be, if the movie wasn´t shot in chroma/b&w).
The thing that bothers me, is the grain (added or due to compression?) to the movie, independent if its in color or b&w. It is too strong, would´ve loved an minimalistic approach.
Also there is only the ac3 track, which is a bit disappointing.
