An overall improvement on the original. Goes by just a bit faster but it makes a difference. Saw this with my sister and she wasn't bored; Usually, she sleeps during movies, especially older ones. Looks great, sounds great, better continuity, and I'd recommend it.

From the opening shot of the FE logo, this film is instantly atmospheric and feels like a true classic 80s release!

I’ve seen the original countless times, and I can genuinely say that this edit streamlines the story with cuts so seamless you would never even know it was a fan edit.
The fan in me greatly appreciates the attention to detail in using actual Friday the 13th dates, shortening the time jump and creating a stronger sense of continuity for the franchise. Overall the editing is sharp and the movie runs at a clip! Definitely a great way to revisit it, as it’s often overlooked for its lack of Jason.

*spoilers*
Making it so that we don’t see Mrs. Voorheese saying “kill her mommy” almost gives Jason a more supernatural feel (fitting for the rest of the franchise) and makes the ending feel less like a Psycho knock off.
Then the decision to cut the epilogue makes for a more exciting ending and even reminds me of the ending to the original Nightmare on Elm Street! The post credits scene is a nice touch.

I can’t wait to check out the rest of the Raymix Friday the 13th series!

Very enjoyable edit of a movie I find myself not revisiting very often.

I was involved early on in certifying this edit so I tried to really pay attention to the audio and visual editing. Having been a while since I’d seen the movie, I followed the cutlist as I went which is something I rarely do. The audio and visual editing was flawless. Though there weren’t any major changes to the narrative, the narrative itself was strengthened nonetheless by the editors choices.

Impressive work from a new editor on this site. Doubly impressive that they seem to be tackling the entire Friday the 13th series. I very much look forward to checking out the rest. Great job!

Great edit. The cuts are imperceptible and the film flows much better than in the theatrical version.

Put simply, this edit is a huge success. The narrative flows effortlessly from start to finish, and I didn't miss a single cut shot or scene. It just feels *right*, even with the entire epilogue chopped off with a (proverbial) machete.

I was initially thrown by the decision to hide mama Voorhees' face during the "Pamela as Jason" dialogue towards the end, but on reflection I don't mind the additional layer of ambiguity it presents, which perhaps gives the viewer a greater opportunity to anticipate the classic jump scare at the end.

The well-considered pacing improvements and narrative tweaks, coupled with the continuity refinements present here and in future [raymix] entries, makes this an easy edit to recommend.
