A terrific package, with extra documentary footage explaining Dredd's backstory to newcomers and casual fans, as well as the history of the troubled production of Judge Dredd. The movie still amounts to Blade Runner for meatheads, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, and with Rob Schneider pared down, it is a throughly watchable actioner, with genuine love of 2000AD visible in the art direction of every frame. As usual, TM2YC does an immaculate job with the editing and gives us a Dredd movie that deserves a spot on your shelf next to the tremendous (yet too dour, which this one at least doesn't have that problem) Karl Urban reboot/sequel.

This was the first fanedit I've seen and it was fantastic! I've never seen the original version and while I could tell there was some stuff missing, the serious tone that was established from the first scene never really let up (which is what I think our faneditor set out to do). I also particularly enjoyed the explanation at the beginning of the rationale behind the edit and I really hope that Danny Cannon has seen this edit for himself!

Loved this version so much! It's better than the original with all its goofy moments. Amazing job!

Judge Dredd minus Rob Schneider's bad humor. Now his lines have been cut down so he's mostly there to help out Dredd a bit and piss him off, which works very well. He's a lot more like his character in Demolition Man, annoying in just the right amounts for the character to work. The romance bit at the end is also cut and a few other gags. Basically, if you hated everything about Judge Dredd, this will not fix the movie for you. If you enjoyed it but felt there was too much Schneider and bad humor, this will do the trick for you.

1995's Judge Dredd was the typical 90's movie. Dumb action, stupid sidekick, and a love story shoved into the movie just so the action hero would have something to look forward to just before the credits role. Thankfully, TM2YC is here to remove as much of Schneider as possible and to eliminate that love story that the real Dredd would never have engaged in.

Firstly, the visual and audio editing is definitely up there. There are small bits and pieces that you can tell were edited around, but are barely noticeable. I'm going to guess that Blu-Ray for Judge Dredd isn't going to be demo material considering the content, but the video quality is also up there. Everything in the story is consistent with the source material.

If i had to show someone a version of Judge Dredd, it probably would be this version. There is less of Schneider, so the movie is more tolerable on that front. The love story is removed, so its more true to the source material. It might have been a guilty pleasure of mine beforehand, but now its a solid cut of a movie, albeit it still not as good as the new Dredd movie. Recommended.
